outpost should be safe areas

  • I believe that outpost should be a safe area where you can't be attacked, for the reason that pirates should fight and have there disputes amongst the wave out on sea and not a cowardly attack by ambushing them at an outpost, even thieving pirates should have honor and their pride as it says in our code article 3 "Disputes are settled upon the waves, None shall quarrel or overly dissent against another crew, but let every engagement be settled by sword, pistol and good seamanship."

  • I'm sorry to break this to you but the outposts are also on the seas. Fortunately, in December they are coming out with safer seas where you will be able to practice your skills without worrying about having your loot stolen by a pirate.

    Additionally, a pirate attacking you on the sea of thieves is never an ambush... it is very easy to see other ships on the horizon and avoid them.

    The code you quoted refers to not harassing people out of the game for in game activities.

  • Safer seas is coming soon to solve this issue for the more casual players such as yourself.

  • No. No safe area on the soon to be high seas. Defeats the purpose of what the game is about.

  • Not really in the spirit of the game IMO. Ambushing others is part of the game, people need to be more careful not to be outsmarted and robbed.

  • They did what they shoulda done imo.

    Brought in quick production, quick gathering and quick selling

    then people get to make their decisions on how they handle things.

    I've been going on and on for years about risk/reward but these days there isn't a whole lot weighing down pve/adventure anymore, even with all the cheesing the qol of organic pve/adventure play has improved so much there aren't any real serious issues with organic risk/reward anymore.

    They have instanced play, they have safer seas on the horizon, they have risk that mostly makes sense.

    It takes time for people to build experience but there is a very clear path now for creating manageable gameplay for just about everyone.

    So much pressure has been reduced because of the changes/additions in the last year and people on the top burning out that it's an entirely different experience now.

    People still gotta work on efficiency and making decisions that make sense but everyone has a real shot now.

  • There should be NO SAFE AREAS in the game.
    This is the thrill of the game, that you have to pay attention the whole time and you never know what's behind the corner.

    You will have safe seas for this.
