In regards to the ship repair cheat going around, here's my suggestion:
- For the time being disable the ship restore feature in the game. This will put an instant halt to users of the instant repair cheat while not interrupting the playability of the game.
- Now with ship restore disabled use this time to rework the way ship restore works- Ship restore should require a boat to be at 100% health to activate and should only update the cosmetic look of the ship. It should not repair existing holes/mast/wheel/capstan.
- Enable ship restore function once it's been reworked and tested.
This will have the temporary effect of not being able to visually update the look of your captained boat to be "fresh", but the result is permanently minimizing this unfair advantage. From my experience, many of the players using the ship restore are sinkable without that cheat. But with the cheat it makes it near impossible on adventure (unless red sea), and near impossible in hourglass battles- only by sailing the other boat out of bounds while killing the players aboard, who likely have many other cheats active, and not letting them anchor can they be defeated. This change will instantly give legitimate players a strong chance of beating their cheating opponent.
