Render Distance

    I'm running an ASUS GeForce 1080ti 11gb and Ryzen 7 5800x with in-game graphics settings on maximum.

    Is there something I'm missing to increase my Render Distance? I need to darn near sail right up onto the beach with my binoculars to see what's on the island.

    Or is it just the games graphical limitations. AAA titles run at max and I can see clearly for miles in the sniper scope literal miles but I get a couple hundred feet in this one. :O

    Please increase Render Distance?

    Not sure what controls it, I can see a lot further than most of my crewmates. Details on other ships come in around the distance of an island and a half away. As in, I'm at one island and they're on the other side of the next island over.

    It's an artificial limitation purposefully designed to promote balance between platforms.

    Render distance is controlled by the model detail and texture detail settings. Increasing these to max will max out render distance.

    @sarjentstupid x box series s here, it’s not your PC, some items don’t render with a spyglass until you’re within pistol range. I think enemies render further though.

    Changing Model detail in the settings menu adjusts render pop-in. Rare and above provide the highest render distance; Legendary and Mythical will only change the speed at which items will render.

    Check your .ini to make sure your settings file is showing a value of "3" in the appropriate scalability group because some users have reported issues with corrupted .ini save files.

    Thanks very much I did find my way to that setting and it is like you said on level 3. The in-game graphics are also maxed out.

    I think this was answered by he said balance between high power PC and little Xbox consoles.
