I was wondering if anyone knew beyond RNG if there were any tips for finding rarer types of each of the fish types and the treacherous plunder. Trying to get more of these counts complete but it is really time consuming, especially as I solo mostly.

Tricks for treacherous plunder: fish only in open ocean and without bait. Once a fish appears, reset the rod.
For Shadow Stormfish: Fish at Sea Dogs during a storm with the proper bait.
All others: it's RNG based. Just fish during the day with the proper bait in the proper region.
treacherous plunder fish in the ponds at the shores of gold, you will eventually fish up all the fish and then only treacherous plunder as well as ashen keys etc will spawn, will still take some time however thats the only way to grind them fast
shadow stormfish as komm above said but a better option is fishing at the pirate legend hangout instead (when the storm is over sea dogs obviously) means your not at as much risk of other players and you have plenty of portals to get back there if your mixing it up with other fishes
if your going after the commendation to get every fish 50 time and each rare fish 10 times solo it will take at least 1,000 hours of fishing
