This has been bugging me lately and probably other players. But for Xbox players when ur in a Xbox party, you can’t use in game chat just not possible… there should be an option for pc and Xbox players where if ur talking in game there should be a feature where other players can’t hear you unless you turn it on? I think this would be helpful if your talking in game. This can be a problem for Xbox players
Voice chat for crew pc/Xbox
It's been requested quite a few times and I've always been in favour of it.
It wouldn't just benefit console players but PC players would benefit in Open Crews from separate crew and global voice chat by not having to join a Discord with strangers or risking joining a Party Chat (I know Microsoft were working on the PC security issues with that but not sure where it stands at the moment).
@burnbacon talking about in game chat…. A feature that can disable and enable chat in game when coming across other players? Only your crew can hear you unless this feature is turned on or off in settings in game for your crew. That would allow you to talk to other players

As this happens with every game on Xbox. It’s a Microsoft thing not rare.
This maybe true but if Rare can do it, it's a big QOL improvement that only helps the game. Other games have team chat, so I don't believe fobbing it off as a platform specific issue is right.
I see no reason they wouldn't be able to do it in-game, the discrete audio channels already exist (you are able to mute other crews and specific players on your own crew, for example). I'm not saying it's a simple thing but it should be possible to achieve.
I want console players to not rely on Party Chat, as a PC player it's frustrating trying to be social with folks who can't hear you or communicate efficiently with you. I've already mentioned other benefits this would have for PC players.

@xxtoxiiiiicxx whisper with a speaking trumpet and you have crew only chat.
That's not how whispering works.
It still broadcasts your voice to other players though, not just your crew, provided they are close enough. So it's not the same thing as having crew only chat.
@realstyli i mean its not exactly the same but its such a short range its an ok enough stand in. Also your crew doesn't have to be close to hear you.

I do get where you are coming from, really. I just feel there's no harm in pushing Rare to keep adding QoL improvements that only improve the game for many and alleviate frustrations. I don't see any need to fight back against such features, as long as they are realistic. This is something that I think is achievable.
@xxtoxiiiiicxx as been said already, this is an xbox/MS thing, not a Rare thing
Still some games seem to have a workaround for this issue...for example Borderlands 3, but only since the crossplay update...somehow the Shift-account does this...a friend I played with had to mute me either ingame in Shift or in XBox-app, or else he heard me double
Don’t know if this is still a thing...But still I have to say, I prefer partychat, as the quality is much better than the ingame chat...I still can write other crews with my chatpad
