  • I believe so, steamdeck is nothing more than a computer.

  • @targasbr the issue isnt that its a pc its the fact that it runs linux.

@Tazom1 from posts on the forums, this game has some challenges with linux and I would be wary for that reason. Hardware wise i saw the steamdeck running Forza 5 in a review video so it should be able to handle SoT if the software can.

Oh really? I didn't know about this one. However, it's a matter of time before someone manages to install windows, if they haven't already.

  • A lot of this is down to how popular the Steam Deck ends up being.

As mentioned, it runs on Linux (SteamOS, based on Debian 8) and uses the Proton compatibility layer to run Windows games.

Official Linux support could happen, theoretically, allowing the game to run natively, if this thing takes off but I really don't know if that fits within the business model Microsoft has for its games.

As for how well the game runs on Proton, you can check ProtonDB to see what people say about it. I don't run Linux anymore (just not worth the hassle, IMO) but going on the reviews there, it looks like Proton support has improved a lot recently, though still not perfect - issues seem to mainly be that voice chat often doesn't work and there are issues joining existing crews.

  • Depends if Rare want it to or not. Fortnite probably wont run on it for example because Epic can't be asked but many will. If SoT is a dealbreaker you need to wait and see.

  • You could also use xCloud to stream the game on the device.
