Pistol & Sniper : Inconsistent Damage ?

  • Hello Hello.
I'm a player for a good year now. Love a good pvp session. I'm pretty alright with ship fight, but pretty bad at TDM (I'm old, my reaction time isn't the best haha). But I'm also becoming more and more frustrated with those weapons. Like it seems very inconsistent. Most of the time I touch someone with a pistol and sniper from afar, they don't die. Which I'm surprised, since the damage is supposed to be 55% and 70%. But I blame it on the distance.

Except today, someone climbing the ladder. I had time to shoot sniper at them from above, then pistol. And yet they didn't die.... (I've got the cross hair for both shots)

So, I wonder if someone had an explanation.

    Cheers :)

    question
  • Hit reg. Enemy #1 in Sea of Thieves. You'll get used to it... or get used to cursing it.

  • @william-destin

    Hit reg.
    And you're old.

  • Bullets in Sea of Thieves have inconsistent hit registration. This means that sometimes you will land shots that don’t do damage and other times you’ll miss shots that will do damage.

  • its the most broken I have seen in any pvp game.

I once had to use all 5 EoR bullets on a single player and I never missed a shot just it refused to register. So frustrating.

  • Who is going to tell him?

  • @lt-l00t In areas of intense action...

  • This has been copy n pasted for years on patch notes:

"In areas of intense action, players may find themselves firing shots or landing strikes that do not cause damage to their targets. While improvements continue to be delivered during our content updates, this continues to be a key priority for the team."
