Yeah I did have an issue understanding you and still kind of do. Not sure if its a language barrier or what but at this point really do not care. You just come off as rather unpleasent so I do not really desire further communication.

    Have a good one.

And yet you answered. Salty somehow? Toxic even? Proofing my point? ;)
Why not just ignore me right away instead of writing one more post?
    You felt adressed.
    Same as your like-buddys. =)

Learn to enjoy the toxicity. Dew it. =)

She probably felt addressed because you did address her lol.. and Pigeon chess is something she has gotten used to dealing with from people who don't understand the game. Carry on making a spectacle and mess, it's fun to watch!

    Well said friend.

I will say though certain posters here are rather hateful to strangers online all over a video game which is rather sad in my opinion.

At end of day we are all part of the SOT community no matter how we choose to play in the sandbox Rare has provided us with.

  • @combatxkitty

Agreed, but it's also the fact that some folk seem to think that if they put a smiley face at the end of every sentence then it's somehow not passive/aggressive or hateful anymore..

  • Sh°t I adressed someone without knowing! =)
Tbh this topic has that kind of vibe all over it I cannot even bother to scroll back.

But apologys if I implied things before anyone else and made it unnecessarily personal.
    Sea of NoHardFeelings, set out!

  • This post totally has PC ego monsters in it.
#1. Don't have an emisary flag when doing TTs
#2. If you're on an Xbox and expect to win against PC players.. FORGET IT. Watch how egotistical they get after this post lol with their 200 FPS and 30 Ping
#3. Xbox play against Xbox only and get a SSD(Solid State Drive) for SoT on Xbox and instead of sitting at the black loading screen for 1:30 you'll only be there 0:05 while your ship is sinking.

The only way Xbox wins against PC is when the PC End User is clueless, their PC sucks, full of spyware, malware, viruses, has an overheating problem, or their connection sucks. Xbox has little to no options to improve about ANY aspect of the game. You don't know how bad your FPS or Ping actually is unless you use some kind of 3rd party apps which is usually pretty inaccurate. Almost disrespecting toward Xbox users if you ask me..

  • Why not add Harpeez for those PvP players after so many player kills or ships sunk.. There's not enough SKY action. Put something in the game which smells death n comes to take the death dealers...?

  • @taoists

Yeh, would be cool if harpies or better still sirens spawned round death I suppose! Doesn't fit in much with the lore really but yeh.. gives some variation from just sharks.

Putting these two tips side by side is unintentionally hilarious.

@kommunisator so ships couldnt catch you in the early days of SoT? They didnt change the sailing machanic. If you play for years and still make mistakes you discribed in your recent post, than you are not learning from your mistakes. If you get catched by a sloop try to use you firepower from the galeon, watch you ladders and enjoy the target pratice if the sloop gets closer to your ship. If you still get solo´d by one player he is just a better player. Maybe a cheater but mostly just better. You have sessions wich are very calming where you can grind your missions and sometimes you have a stressfull time. Thats the game and you have to deal with it.

No, sorry, you misread what I meant, and as english isn't my native language, sometimes what I mean does not translate very well.
In the early days there were not so many people who were only hellbent on just killing other players for fun, or at least so it seemed.
Maybe because people hadn't reached "endgame" content, and had more other stuff to do, so chasing other players around the maps was boring to them. Maybe there were more players back then who were good sports, I remember getting into a fight, and after getting killed and respawning the other party was standing next to our (empty, had no loot since we just started our tour) ship waving and then heading off.

These days they would either kill you over and over again, deliberately NOT sinking your ship to do this. Or they would sink it regardless.

It feels as if the game has lost some of its lightheartedness, the way players behaved in PvP interactions felt more like "Dennis the Menace", not like "Jared-Letho-Joker"-psychopaths.

  • The emissary system was created to promote pvp. The reapers bones have a mechanic that revolves around collecting those flags. And other emissaries can also turn those in at reaper's hideout for additional rewards. If you don't want to be attacked by other players don't participate in the emissary system. It's really that simple. The emissary system is a risk/reward mechanic. Don't complain about it if you don't want to participate in pvp.

On top of that, it's almost as if crossplay opt-out preference exists, isn't it funny? What other unrelated topic can they find to complain about next?

  • God OP is new to the game came only to vent his frustration once and, after eceiving some tips, never to be seen again on this forum. So everything relevant was said and done but hey, let's all waste our time and turn this thread into another burning off-topic train lol. This community genuinely never fails to amaze me.

  • @bloodybil I like options.. Do you like options?
I've seen loading times of more than 5 minutes when opting out of cross play on xbox. But on that same xbox, NOT opting out of cross play puts you into a game in a few seconds. I started this game on PC. PC players have more options and settings to customize the game to their liking. PC players have a definite advantage over Xbox players and it seems Xbox players are being tied up n fed to the sharks. You've got graphics options up the wazoo on PC which Xbox players don't have. PC players can watch their ping in real time and framerates, leaving them the added ability to tell when EVERYTHING needs a reboot n reconnect. Xbox...? Nadda.. just a lockup n disconnect. You can also improve gameplay by lowering graphics quality.. None of these options exist on Xbox. I've got well over 40 years of experience with PC and I've chosen Xbox as my gaming machine because of the ease of use. I don't like how Xbox players are being used and abused with the total lack of options PC players are Enjoying. PC players can also CHEAT much easier by creating h4cks which can be totally undetectable by Rare.

Well it's clear you don't understand hardware despite 40 years experience with PC's.

    • The Xbox One can literally not go any lower on the graphics. It is as optimized out of the box for that console as it can be. PC gets "all those extra settings" because PCs have a wide variety of hardware from person to person and this allows them to tune the game to run best on said setup. With an RTX 3090, I can run 1440p 144Hz with no framerate drop and all mythic settings. An Xbox One will only dream of such things. At the same time, someone might be running an older 1070 card and cannot run 1440/144 so they need to turn down the graphics. Also seeing latency changes nothing as far as predicting the game crashing. This just lets you know what region server you might be on and whether not to try and hop for a new one.

    • You have a long wait time finding a server in xbox opt-out because there are way fewer players in that pool resulting in less servers.

    • Finally, the whole "all PC players cheat" argument is hilarious. A company made a box specifically for allowing Xbox players to use a keyboard/mouse but send the signal to the console as if it is a controller so they could still get into controller only servers for games. They also added functionality like macros, aim assist (zero recoil), and several others if you are still using a controller with it. Tell me some more about how easy it is to cheat on PC vs Xbox. I will wait to hear it.

Right? I don't understand, on one hand @taoists whines about issues that have already been resolved through crossplay opt-out, whines about wanting already available options, and whines about the extra time this very option requires to find a suitable server for him. Telling you, some people will never be happy no matter what Rare does.
