Is it me or Ancient skeletons love TDM

  • Anybody else notice how many ancient skeletons pop out during TDM ?
I got two on single day. One I claimed, the other ducked under ground when I fired, just to pop out split second later and got claimed by somebody else.
I see them so often but two on one day is a new one.

    what is tdm?

Team Deathmatch. How it usually works in SoT is that two or more crews go to fort (usually in arena) where they will fight only using Flintlocks and Eye of reaches.

UPDATE: NEVERMIND, everything I say down here is idiotic and I'm wrong.

Someone did a test on WHEN Ancient skeletons spawn, and they found out that you had to be on the island for about 5 minutes before any ancient skeletons would spawn. So you can't just cannon out from island to island and stay there for 10 seconds and hope it spawns, you have to be on the island for a while in order for the ancient skeleton to have a chance of spawning. That's why TDM's generally find lots of ancient skeletons, because you've been on the island for 5+ minutes at a time, so it meets all the qualifications for it to spawn.

  • @kaijoi I understand that, but It does not explain why staying on islands for 20 minutes in adventure yields almost no skeletons for hours of play time. But when you TDM you almost always see one.

5 minutes isn't true it's just coincidence within people's anecdotal experience

I have clip where I spawned into an abandoned open crew that sank and I spawned on plunder valley on land and an ancient skelly spawned within seconds of me loading in and I was the only one in game

I've had many spawn within the first minute or 2 of touching land

@ op it's all random luck mixed with spending time on land

the only thing that could possibly explain a higher rate other than coincidence and luck is that possibly because more crews are there perhaps there could be some sort of individual crew chance that produces more in a spot but more than likely it's just coincidence and luck

In adventure I go a few weeks with nothing then I often get 2 or 3+ in a week and sometimes 2 in a day. All luck and land
