sea of thieves running at 1-20 fps on good computer

  • for some reason, today when I hopped back on sot for the first time in months. after updating the game, even at the lowest settings, my game was running at 1-20 fps on-land and off-land. my pc that i have is an alienware 17 r4 with 16gb ram, an intel i7-7700 @ 2.80 ghz, windows 10, and a rtx 1050 ti. it doesnt make sense to me why it is running this way and i am getting angry because i wanted to play sot again. please somebody respond to me and please give me a solution to fix this.

  • btw yes i did re-install the game but it didnt work

  • Thats weird I use a Acer Predator 17 G9-791 and the specs is I5-6300hq, 24gigs system memory, Nvidia 970M GTX and I haven't any issue playing the game from steam in terms of fps which over 60 fps.
First thing is windows up to date, is your drivers also update, is the background recording turned off in the system settings as I had it eat up my system memory before now with this game, is there any apps running in the background that isn't needed for games.

  • Uninstall video drivers in windows safe mode and reinstall after reboot. Its not the game
Hold left shift while reboot windows wil give de option to boot in safe mode

  • @dragon69fly can you give me like a list of steps to follow, like type in a list of what to do cuz I don’t know much about computers

  • @dragon69fly I just did what you told me to and it didn’t work

  • @grupp3-3v1l im sorry little late in replay, and my bad english. Of the reinstall of gpu driver didnt help (in windows safe mode) i dont know anymore. Onley thing i could think off, on My laptop when booting the game it shoosed the wrong gpu. The Intel onboard one instead of the nvidea one. Should be some guides on google. My english is to limited.
