Just curious about which level people reached on day one, I reached lvl 29 by basically running the average Reaper session (Sink every ship that gets too close, emissary hunt and world events).
PS: also, some of you bought the plunder pass? I haven't, not the type of stuff I like spending my money on personally.
I haven't paid much attention. I wanna play how I normally play for a while and see what unlocks naturally before I focus on it
I did take a short glance at some of the tasks earlier. They all need to be completed to unlock everything or just a majority? I saw some of the puke nonsense and a a few others that aren't gonna be fun
System itself is awesome though I love how just playing even when doing random things now unlocks things
Plunder pass is just a good deal for people into buying cosmetics that haven't wiped out the emporium already yet. Good deal for some for sure

Level 20.
Would've been much higher but for two dastardly pirates who stole a brig full of loot from us.
We even managed to sail back to them 3 times to fight for it back and were totally thrashed every time we tried!
It's been a long time since that has happened to me on the seas. Can honestly say it made the session for me. Would love to be able to blame glitches, but this was the first update day where I encountered absolutely none at all 👌

@gulpee-rex got to remember its designed for all players including the very new , who will like some payout for early days plays.
I only got the chance to play for an hour or so last night, so did a leftover Powder Stash voyage and fought a skelly sloop and a skelly galleon. Just doing those and a few random things got me to 7 and a bit.
While it might seem like it's going pretty fast, you've got to remember that it's aimed at bringing in and keeping more casual players, who otherwise wouldn't see a point to playing for only a few hours. I don't see the majority of players here struggling to level up but that's where the new DA set is aimed - at more hardcore gold hoarding players.
@wolfmanbush You are not forced to complete trials, those are extras that give you extra renown, but you can get to lvl 100 just by playing your way since these are not needed to get renown, you get it just by playing and doing stuff (voyages, worldevents, fishing, getting treasure on your ship/selling it, defeating skeletons, even just sailing gets you some renown). In fact, I don't think I'll even try doing one, 3 months are plenty of time to get to lvl 100 and I have no hurry.

I know lot of people like battle passes but that's not my thing, specially in this case since I'm interested in like 2 items from the pass. Getting rewarded with stuff I don't care about doesn't really feel rewarding to me, but I do admit the lvl up pop-up makes me feel like I'm doing some progress, but probably I just miss the feeling of progression since I maxed out all companies way long ago.

That's actually not how it works. You get some value from turn ins but not much. The activities you did acquiring the loot is way more impactful on season renown than the sale of it.
Edit: I'm lvl 11 and some change after playing about 2 hours. Did a merchant voyage and fought off a Kraken, then puttered around for about 15 to 20 minutes.

That's actually not how it works. You get some value from turn ins but not much. The activities you did acquiring the loot is way more impactful on season renown than the sale of it.
Yeah. According to rarethief, they are 3 tiers of renown (Swift, Grand and Epic). Picking up an item / putting it on your boat / selling it are a Swift gain each time. So he missed on a bit, but not much.
Made it to renown level 11 last night just casually playing for a couple hours last night doing Order of Souls emissary. Also was a LOT of scavenging as I kept running into treasure everywhere - beaches, floating and many shipwrecks (probably had 4-5 regular wrecks in that short period and all within the Shores of Plenty).
