I bought this game paid money to get it and I cant even enjoy a session without people coming up and destroying my ship and countless hours of work trying to get enough supplies together so I can battle the NPCs I don’t play arena matches because of this and I’m being forced to play online with other players that only want to terrioze other players and destroy their ship with hours of work wasted over and over. In the past 2 weeks of playing I have lost at least 50 hours of work gathering supplies and trying to get a little gold so I can buy a few things for my character this is not right and it isn’t fun not for a game we pay money for to play I can understand if it was a free to play game but it isn’t . players should not be able to attack other players in the Maiden Voyage that’s is what Arena is for. Please make a option to play in a story mode or off line.

@cotu42 combat on this game is terrible. Bullet-sponge bosses, laggy PvP encounters, the fact that it takes 3/5 bullets to kill a shark...? Can you blame the guy for being a tad upset. I'm also not a fan of combat on here, and it looks like many of those posting here feel the same way.

If all these people on the forums are upset by PvP then shouldn't the reasons be investigated? Instead of belittling him for buying the game, how about we instead look at how it could and should be changed to draw more people in.

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but that's the game. You do voyages to get loot, other people try to steal that loot. You can try to steal other people's stuff too if that's what you want to do. It's up to you.
There's no safe places in the game and every other ship could be a threat. It's safer with a crew to watch your back. Worst case you can join an Alliance server fleet and voyage more or less in safety. There are a few groups around who set these up if you look around for them.
It can be rough when you first start, trying to learn the ropes on your own. I suggest that you try to make some friends and sail with them. An extra set of eyes and another pair of hands will make protecting your hard won riches a lot easier.
Stick with it and one day you'll be the one taking other people's loot. You're going to sink and lose your plunder many many times though, that's an essential part of the game loop. Nothing is yours until you turn it in. You can turn in loot as often as you like though, so visit outposts frequently to avoid having too much to lose when pirates come after you.

Will these posts ever stop? It's absolutely incredible. This game is based on PvEvP it's the core idea behind Sea of Thieves. Frankly, if you remove PvP all that's left is an unbalanced mindless grind for gold that serves only to buy meaningless cosmetics. All that makes gold and cosmetics cool is that you had to survive to earn them. You had to evade or sink ships you had to win battles. Your gear reflects your time and experience on the sea. This game without PvP would be like playing soccer without the enemy team, only risk being that you can stumble on the grass.

Euhm.. He is complaining that it is an online multiplayer environment with PvP? He bought an open world online multiplayer PvEvP game. It is not something that is going to change, as that is the core of the game.
It isn't about the combat system that you make it out to be, it isn't about how strong a shark is or anything you are trying to derail it with. His complaint is literally asking for something the game is not, which could have been avoided with some research on the product he bought.
New players are new and need to deal with the learning curve of the game, it is a harsh seas and being a pirate is not an easy life. I will guide those that ask for guidance, yet the topic here sounds more like buyer's remorse.
You can make it personal, try to make jabs at me calling me a fan boy and what not. Just act immature and at some point you will be silenced by the mods. 🤫

No, it's like somebody buying PuBG and then complaining that it's some Highlander style PvP game where everybody tries to kill everybody else and asking for a mode where you just collect guns and ammo.. (which they did in tutorial mode I know but play that and see just how entertaining it is !) You get what you buy.

That is such a poor logic, you wont see players praising a product all the time they just play it.
Its very shallow to base your point on salty reviews, most people who enjoy something would just enjoy it and wont post it.pvp is allright without pvp the game woud be complete boring but the punsihment is way to hard.yes that game isnt designed for playing solo but a lot people play solo....i just need last 8 level for max out reapers but i took a break cause its way to much pvp its not allright playing 12 hours and dont make any progress...
