@galactic-geek ha detto in COMPETITION OF COURAGE:
...ands this sums up the 2nd point; it's not about skill at all. It's about luck, and also...
Manipulation!
@Captain-Coel taught me that when you enter the lobby, you can use the other crews menu option to see who has a full crew and who doesn't. This, in turn, gives you an inherent advantage in knowing who's going to be more vulnerable to attack. This is something that needs to be removed, IMO, as it's an exploitation of the system that shouldn't even exist, because it gives immediate advantages to some over others BEFORE the match even begins. Even worse, not everybody (like myself) even knows about this, so again, it's not about balanced gameplay or skill. It's about those who are ruthless enough to game the system. This inherently breaks Arena.
With all of that said, I have already received the boots of courage, as well as the cutlass of courage, and have 5/20 wins.
Help, a little bit of skill, and a whole heaping of cheap manipulation of the system apparently go a long way!
😅😏🤨😐😑
Tbh you don't need this cheap strategy to win a game, unless you are against good players that abuse it, which is quite rare tbh. Me and my duo got 20 wins out of 20 games in the first 2 days but never farmed on AFK ships masts, never checked for full crews (this means we probably farmed on 1man sloops but we couldn't know before attacking, our strategy doesn't rely on cannon farming anyways so we didn't do that often), never abused the underwater glitch to dodge bullets even if we know how to do it (and I think whoever do this is quite sad, it is so easy to do it that if you explain it to a new player he will be able to do it, how can someone feel good by doing it?), we don't even get out of a lobby if we see a Legendary Sea Dog/someone wearing Glorius Sea Dog's Set (might be because we both have the full Triumpant Set and we are also getting close to the 240 wins :P); we play to win games but also to get better at the game, which also means winning more games. I actually hope Rare makes some changes to AFK Ships (so they despawn faster or something), I really enjoy more the new Arena over the past one but it still need some polishing.
If you and/or your duo are good at: manouvering the ship, hitting the right place with you cannons, boarding at the right time, etc... you'd win without using these kind of non-skilled tactics as cannon farming ships , which I think it's a disgusting META and I try to avoid doing it as much as I can. Farming on a full crew it's ok, you need 1 guy to constatly 2v1 on the other ship which requires the guy to be quite superior to the otehr 2, but farming AFK ships or not full crews on purpose is just sad imo.
