Ability to rob players of gold?

  • I aknowledge that we can already steal chests etc from players but how about the ability to rob a amount of gold from players for a quick few bucks? I also aknowledge that people would exploit this and earn alot of gold in a few minutes but could maybe limit how much can be stolen in a 24hr period

  • This would incentivize pirates to ALWAYS attack other pirates instead of making allies and trying attempts at socializing. In other words, it'll become a shoot on sight kind of game, and would literally remove that you never really know kind of feeling. In affect, you'd essentially kill off half of the game, and nobody would want to play it.

  • @ttvcjsgaming931 with nothing the spend gold on at the moment I would be very upset with people stealing directly from me.

  • It wouldnt be a good thing to do in all honesty.
    It would make months of progressed lost in a few bad encounters as opposed to a few hours.

    You’d likely lose a few players from it.
    As much as i love the idea behind a more hardcore game, it wouldnt be great to dwindle the population.

    Every player you meet would likely be hostile.
    No more would you have those innocent player encounters where you do a fleet together, split the loot on deck and sail off.
    You’d just brutally murder everyone.

    I like your thinking though but i dont think it would add much positive to the game.

    Perhaps a new kind of currency treated like loot though, like an andient cojn to open up a part of the map or a hidden island treasure trove, like a skeleton fort key maybe? Point is, taking loot works. Taking all the stuff the hard effort from loot gives, well nobody would steal loot anymore.

  • I like the idea but it would be less than ideal and overall make people more hostile. An alternative I think would work better and have same concept would be if you kill another player your awarded a little bit of gold. No one loses gold. To keep it from being to heavily exploited the award would need to be on the low side. I suggest 100 gold for a normal player and 200 gold for a pirate legend. It would be something and would add up over time, but still be low enough to not be exploited without lots of work. You could also cut this in half or add diminishing return for repeatedly killing the same player, but I like your idea, I just personally think it’d make us lose players.

    if it was for gambling then sure but if not people would just do it all the time to troll and then they would say it's back to where it was
