Burying treasure

  • I want to suggest that as well as digging up treasure, you could also bury treasure and additionally, make a map to remind yourself where its hidden. maybe its best to limit how long it stays there and if it goes over 7 days (for example) you use the them in the Gold Hoarder quests.

optional, if you wanted, you could give the map to another player if you knew you wanted be back on before the server reset.

  • For the umpteenth time, No.

  • I can see why pirates wanna do this. But once you leave a session...it shouldn’t remain until later.

multiple chests only to dig them up within a time frame. Why? Turn them in XD

  • Plus i imagine this would mainly be used for a big haul.

Surely its more safer on your ship than having to pull up to an island, dig your chests 1 by 1. Sail to an outpost, sell 1 by 1.

Theres a good chance i could sneak up on you as you collect your loot where as it would of been sold if it was in your ship.

I think it wouldnt really give you a better advantage given i can just collect your loot map by sinking a ship.

Because, they arent safer underground then they are on your ship.

  • @shadow20642 maybe your right. but its a nice option. after all... Pirates must bury a treasure to dig it up, right? :-)

Imagine if i get an Ashen Chest but i want to get the key first, id like the option to bury it somewhere, log back in the next day and continue where i left off because i have to sign out.... just a thought :-)

They did not in fact bury treasure. Historical records can only find one single instance of a declared Pirate burying treasure. That Pirate was William Kidd. Ultimately, that stash was found and used against him in his own trial. Not much of a Legend to be found there.

Buried treasure has become such a trope in Piracy due to its popularity in Fiction. Fiction, being the only place you will see it. If it weren't for books like Treasure Island, the myth of buried treasure would only be a foot-note in history.
