So, collect animals or items are the voyages.
Ship gets hit? your animals die and your bottles break.
Your ship is likely slower due to keeping it full of water, easier to sink.
Your voyage is timed. Don't hang around or explore, just get to your destination.
So, no ship fights, no exploring. Pick up, deliver, repeat ad nauseam.
I honestly think the animal collection could be a voyage offered by the Hunter's Call, hopefully with some tweaks to make it more fun:
- Pig Collection points you to an Island, once all pigs are collected a Wild Boar boss spawns to kill as part of the Voyage (with different color variations and rarities)
- Snakes are similar, spawning an Anaconda that does venom sprays and spit-bombs (again, varying colors)
- Chicken voyages ask for a larger amount of chickens than currently, but chickens have more color variations added and allow you to collect any color.
This leaves the Merchant Alliance to offer a new Voyage: Stolen Goods
This offers a description of a location where a skeleton fleet that stole goods was last seen (Between Island X & Y / South of Island X / Etc.)
It also describes the amount of ships and a bounty for each skeleton ship, with each ship dropping a flag worth the bounty given.
Upon arriving in the area, skeleton ships appear, the amount and use of cursed cannonballs depending on the level of the voyage, random chance and your own ship type.
Leaving the area has them sink back into the water and slowly bail until you enter the area again.
Skeleton ships defeated this way drop their normal loot plus Merchant Goods marked as Stolen. ("Stolen Exquisite Spices", etc.)
The stolen goods have a greater value than usual.
Handing in the flags of the defeated ships completes the voyage.
This basically gives the Merchant Alliance a thematic action-based voyage with a chance of normal loot and the chance of getting good stolen loot.
