"Pirates! from 14:45 BST, the Sea of Thieves servers will be offline for approximately one hour. Unfortunately, the feature which enables pirates to hand crew mates resources is causing an issue and as such, needs to be temporarily removed from this patch while the team investigate further. We'll provide further updates when we have them!"

Test servers don't need to be up 24/7 but I think it would be beneficial if they were up the week prior to a new build containing significant changes being put into production so that new features have an extra testing buffer.

Can’t help but think that this game should have a test server. Must be so hard to test all the new features in house. Most problems like these probably wouldn’t show up until it’s out in the open. Disappointed the servers are going back down but I understand.
Hopefully this can be resolved without needing another’s patch.
Rare needs to do something to get it together. Bring back Pioneers, have a PTS up at all times, something, anything to build some momentum in the right direction. The game just isn't going to survive if some changes aren't made to secure its survival in the short run. I understand Sea of Thieves needs time to get content and systems in place that should have been there at launch but if steps aren't taken to at least push out timely updates that aren't broken or break some other functionality in the process no one is going to be left playing by then but the most dedicated, hearty pirates/fanboys.
@gunznbuttaz82 Thats good idea. Like Lol have PBE server where players testing new stuff befor releasing it. 🙄
I think this idea is kinda stupid anyway gonna have people always begging for bananas and cannon balls like crack heads because they are lazy...
Or even worse idiots griefing their crew giving loot to others not in their crew.
And then with the new matchmaking having those others invite them to crew so they all can benefit...
Then the new interaction with all the other hacks available to PC users will prob lead to duping next...
@lord-salty-dog personally I think it adds to the fun social aspect of the game.
There’s times where you just aren’t near a banana crate also and if you’re doing a skull bounty wouldnt you rather give your crew mate a couple of bananas if you have them spare before the next wave starts instead of them running off and leaving you to it?

It's better then 2 of them sitting on boat playing music and drinking puking on each other, blowing up ship sailing away with ship, sleeping in captains bed etc...

And on the most side, we broke it good and hard, with much respect. A few scallies broke the code, but I truly believe they've missed out on something there.
I'm not that bothered about a bit of downtime, I don't complain that my pc needs updates even hotfixes, after an update, I don't say hey I'm never using a computer again because you had to fix something..... but a little bit of Pio-stuff might have helped here.

I'm hoping they utilize that again and open it back up for more people. I'd love to get in on that It seems the last run they did they added randomly and have seen some pioneers leaving the game from their goodbye notes lol.
@ve111a If they did open it up again im sure they would send out new invites to make up he numbers for those who no longer play or got banned for breaching the NDA or ToS. :)
