I don't know if I'm missing something with the quest board but I feel like it would be way more useful if you could see your personal stashes on there and dive back to the server they are on, this would give you the ability to stash your resources then go back and get them next session, if someone else hasn't beaten you to it, I think this would give everyone a reason to stash their stuff everywhere and make the quest board loads more fun for everyone
Dive to your quest board stashes
You are proposing what is functionally an abusable fast travel system to possibly give people the ability to just teleport to an island to cut some one off.
Im sure that isnt the intent but the reason quests stay in a server when you dive is so you cant just run away with an important stash, as well as they didnt want to give the players too much control over where they dive since that would act as a fast travel system even if its cross server. If this system was implemented since it would have to be same server, that is exclusively just fast travel, and should not be added.
@goldsmen I get it would cause potential problems like people could almost pick servers but with enough server hopping and a bit of luck you could already pull off what I'm proposing in the current game could you not? I think you would have to start it at the quest board then sail away to dive a bit like hourglass of course not just dive at anytime from anywhere

Just because some people can exploit or do bad things if they take enough time or try hard enough, doesnt mean it should be made drastically easier than it ever was before. That is not a justification, and you very well know that "well bad stuff happens, so we could just allow it" is just an excuse, not a justification.
@goldsmen I don't think server hopping is exploiting the game, it's not very immersive but it happens for all sorts of reasons, going back to your stash is not the same as being able to travel to your allies or something and seems as though you could already do it with enough effort it would be more like a qol update, is there any reason why leaving a server and then being able to dive back there the next day would be game breaking? I think this is what the quest board needs it would make this redundant feature pretty awesome in my opinion

Server hopping isnt an exploit on its own, you proposed hopping back to the same server that the map is in however, which is literally just fast travel and will just get cheesed more than it is used for its actual purpose just like the siren song quest. Because you know just fine that when chasing some one down you cant just casually server hop to the island between where they are going and where they are, with your proposition, you could.
You arnt going to be able to justify an exploitable controlled fast travel feature just because server hopping which you have no control over is a thing you can technically do now. When one guarantees you can cut some one off and the other could lead to you never even seeing that ship again in your life, its pretty clear that the down sides of what you are proposing are being heavily down played.
I could be wrong but the way you talk about it tells me its not because you actually want an easy fast travel to quest board maps which are infamously horrible for loot to begin with considering you personally keep bringing up stuff about being able to join your friends more easily and saying its not a problem because server hopping. As stated though, i could be wrong, but it comes off that way strongly to me.
Seeing as this is going nowhere, i hope you have a good day and i will take my leave from this topic.
@goldsmen I just think it would be good if you could get back to the stuff you've stashed I didn't say you would necessarily dive straight to that island just to the server it was on, I'm not suggesting it as something people could abuse but it would be an awesome feature to be able to stash your storage crate full of cannonballs or whatever and possibly retrieve them again another day, is that not what a stash is?
@goldsmen so you're chasing them down and then you go to the outpost pick up your stash quest so you can dive and beat them to the outpost? Even if you had a stash on every island and you dived to the island like you're suggesting I still don't understand how you could really cheese it
@goldsmen or maybe yeah if you were already at the outpost you could cheese that but I'm not saying you should dive to the island just the server

I appreciate the clarification attempt, but you dont have to spam me with a bunch of pings. As stated, i am done here.
Servers don't last forever, they constantly get turned on and off as players join and leave them. They aren't going to leave a server running to preserve your loot/supplies if the last person who was on it dives off. As much as it pains us to leave resources behind at the end of a session, we know that we can always get them again. Supplies are easy enough to get plentiful amounts of, and things like cursed balls would be nice to preserve, but you'll get them again.
