  • Nintendo @ Palword lol 😂

  • I wish people would stop trying to create unnecessary drama between games by trying to play lawyer and just let cool stuff exist. Competition is healthy, similar experiences/themes/scenery that are different in key ways is healthy.

Everything cool was inspired by others, the art of others, the idea of others, and sometimes it's just two or multiple adventure games that have common adventure themes.

A LOT of other art inspired the creation of Sea of Thieves.

Have you seen Palworld? Pokémon with guns is not a joke. I can point to several designs I would intellectual property fight over.

The other one isn't on my radar tho lol.

  • @wolfmanbush Come on just look at this image, even the trees have identical lines in them

Eh. That picture didn't help lol. Not as bad as palworld. I could sell palworld to my mom as Pokémon.

Even She'd (a non gamer) would say this is a design not a steal.

    Cartoon palm trees look similar.
I could sue Rare over some palm tree sketches I did in 9th grade lol.
Probably a few other companies......hey. waitaminute.

    (Calls lawyer)

They said I was stupid and hung up on me.

If you had a thousand artists draw/paint/design the same scenery with popular colors and a common theme there would be a few that really stuck out (subjective but there are usually a few that will catch more eyes) and most will be very very similar, difference largely being experience/quality. In a similar creative space people will have comparable experience/talent for the most part.

Not as much individuality ends up in a massive project so things look more similar in art.

That game has been out since 2020. Do you not think if Rare cared, they'd have done something by now?

And.....why does this even matter to you??

  • No they didn't.
