I don't think its a good idea to advertise what way someone could take advantage of you. Most of my time on the seas I'm sneaking around and if I know you're deaf I can skip alot of my steps for boarding and just jump straight on when I know you're looking the other way.
Plus some people might just be more cruel to them but on the flipside maybe some will be nicer. Depends on the person.
Final point, how do we know it would be used honestly? Like whats to stop me from equipping it?
Counter Point, just adding it for awareness could be cool but if we did that we should add a ribbon for the various cancers that are out there and allow people to change to whichever one they want. Idk just food for thought.

I appreciate that your personal sentiment is coming from a good place.
But I'm always wary when big companies do this kind thing, from a publicity / marketing stunt perspective, as I feel personally it sometimes tokenises the focus.
Personally i would rather just put things behind me and try to move on in life instead of being reminded at every corner.
I say this as a survivor of lung cancer.

Are you talking about 3 separate items that can be used to communicate a certain disability?
I just wanna know who's playing this, and able to utilize "see no evil" monkey?
Or are you talking about one item with all 3 on it? Lol
In the end, I think its just easier to message someone and explain than it is to use a sail or figurehead. It'll be used by everyone no matter the utility because some people have different tastes and may just like it best. Which basically removes its meaning and confuses people in game
@mattmachine21 I like the design idea. Always loved the 3 monkeys of see, hear, speak no evil. Love to have one of them on my sails as I'm running up on someone. I think many people would like the design like me. As a way to communicate a person on board is deaf or mute....probly would not be a good way to inform people. I mean I'm neither and just like the design and would use it simply for that reason.
In short I'm all for the addition because reasons.
Seems like the purpose of this would be lost from the get-go since people with no disabilities would probably use them just because they like the way it looks, right?
