It’s my understanding that it takes 240 wins for the PL weapons.

It was 240, then they change it to 100, then back to 240 because people were mad...like usual.

It’s also my understanding that once you do get up to 240 wins you’ll be in the mid 40s.

With all that said. If you want the weapons you should just stick it out with Arena. If you just want the boat and title, but the letters while you can.

Arena can be super fun, but it’s just so incredibly hit or miss. If you’ve got a good crew that will stick around it can be fun. But so often you’ve got crew mates that wanna boss everyone around like they them selves programmed the Arena, then they rage quit if you don’t have 10k point lead in the first five minutes.

On the other hand, if you don’t have a good crew of four you can just about give up winning. The crew set up is always all over the place. You might have the only full crew and blow everyone else out of the water so bad it’s kinda boring. Or you might only have two or three people and another full crew takes the win basically as soon as the game starts.

Again, it’s just all so so all over the place in terms of overall fun. You just gotta figure out what it is you want.

However it looks as though the pirate legend weapons and sea dog outfits are tied to at least 100 wins, so if I wanted those cosmetics (which I do) I would need to grind arena anyway.

I have resigned myself to the fact that I will never get those Pirate Legend weapons because they are tied to the Arena wins (unless RARE ever sees their error and corrects it so they are obtainable in Adventure as they should be anyway).

Yeah. And if you want the Wimbledon singles trophy on your mantlepiece, you have to go and win that tennis championship! Same with Olympic gold: You have to earn it!

Why do Sea of Thieves players think they should be entitled to every commendation and related cosmetic, when they are not willing to:

• Play certain aspects of the game?
• Play consistently, so they do not miss out on time-limited stuff?
• Accept that some things (e.g. defeating the Shrouded Ghost) are a matter of peristence and/or luck?

Some commendations - and the related cosmetics - are there to reward achievement. They are special because you had to earn them a certain way. Just like a Wimbledon trophy, or an Olympic gold medal!

Alternatively, why don't we just give every new pirate every available item of clothing, every available weapon & piece of equipment, and every ship livery on Day One? That way they wont even have to even set sail!

@timboagogo Never say never. Maybe, in the future, they add new ships (sloops and brigs), they add more game modes to play etc. So maybe in the future, you will play arena, and you will be able to get those PL weapons.

But seriously the whole point is you can achieve PL status without playing Arena but you can't get those PL weapons unless you do play Arena.

Would you be happier if they had been named "Arena Legend" weapons? Or "Sea Dog Legend"? Would you be content to miss out on them then?

I totally respect and understand what you are saying but I really wasn't asking for anything for nothing or without working to achieve it and earn it.

(I worked really hard for at least 2 minutes for my "Hunter of the Shrouded Ghost" title and I'm very proud of it.)

Not sure if you noticed but you can’t get pirate legend shovel, compass, tankard, lantern, or telescope without doing the 3 other factions. So I don’t see the big deal in having to do sea dogs to get the weapons. @SurveyorPete nailed this 100% you are only upset because it’s a difficult task and you don’t want to do it.

Good news is the pirate legends set is tied into arena and because you’d aid you’d be happy to miss out on anything related to arena then I guess issues resolved.
