New merchnat mission type - Crate Ingredients

    The aim of this mission type would be to gather various, hard to source ingredients for the merchants guild. So you'd have to collect things like

    • Leaves of a carnivorous plants. The merchants want these to make their Exquisite spices.
    • Rare minerals, these are normally found on volcano islands, and are the glowing red stones. Volcanos don't like to be poked
    • Bones to make bone dust (you can guess where you get these from) Would be kinda cool to pick up a femur or two after dispatching the skelly's
    • Exotic silks. Sadly we pirates don't make these we steal 'em from local cannibals

    These mission types would need a few new radial inventory items too. The hand pick axe and the small dagger for mining the minerals and cutting the leaves off the carnivorous plants.

    I'm sure we could think of more mission types such as these. Just anything other than catching chickens and delivering rum.

    Also interacting with the world around us in this way would connect us to it a bit more rather than it being just a beautiful backdrop.

    Another good idea.
    Merchant is my most hated.
    I refuse to collect animals.
    Im a pirate. Not an animal UPS delivery boy.
    And i finally did a couple cargo runs, they arent so bad.
    Im not sayin i would go do this new merchant stuff u are suggesting, but it sounds way more interesting than the other 2.

    @nwo-azcrack they could make them available without needing to put down a merchant quest. So you could gather the bits as you sail around doing your more piratey stuff and sell the bits like you do fish. Then you're upping your merchant level in a less painful way

    I would do this.
    Heck i sell my gunpowders at the end of every session just to nickle amd dime that merchant rep.
    Im all for more ways to level that boring faction

    @guybrush3pwood2 Amazing idea . This would add quite a ton of different items in the game that you can put in your inventory ... I especially liked the idea of having to use tools to get your ingredients . This way they could add a variety of plants and even name them specifically so you would have to go to specific islands to find them . They should also make the payment higher than ordinary voyages so this way it cannot be ignored by players .

    These items could be exclusive to The Devils Roar. At the moment the merchant there ONLY sells delivery missions and there needs to be a bit of variety in that area.

    Like animal delivery? Or do they do cargo runs too? Hate to be off topic but im still tryin to catch up with everything. Plus i never paid attentiom to merch

    I’m a pirate legend. Well not really but I could be if I wanted.

    I have never read a single riddle or dig up a single treasure chest and I sure then he’ll have never transported a chicken, pig or done a single Merchant quest.
