Needs different game mode options!!!

  • Just bought this game just over a week ago and have already got frustrated enough that I likely won’t play again unless something changes...in fact still new enough I may ask Microsoft for a refund.

I enjoyed the game when I first started as I was still figuring out the aspects. Once I started to get things down my friend and I set out on the little escapades. Really gave one a little knowledge on the controls.
The problem started to encounter when we felt like going for some bigger loot in hopes to buy some of the in game cosmetic upgrades. We spent an hour or sometime 2-3 only to encounter someone else who stripped away everything we had done and left with nothing and complety feeling after all the hard work, that was a part of my life I’ll never get back.
I may again purchase this game if they come up with some ideas for people who don’t want to engage in the game in that way. Such like GTA where one can choose to go into passive mode, or an offline mode where one could gather with only your friends.
I realize this makes the game somewhat different from what they set out possibly where they want people to engage online. But let’s get with the times. If they think that absolutely everyone feels like doing that, how blindsided is the company. Many different gamers and styles people like to play.
My personal preference would be about the loot and adventures and tackling some of the AI pirate ships is what I would find enjoyable. To have that stripped away from others has totally wrecked this game for me. It has potential and I hope one day tho ha change.
    Best regards

  • Don’t be discouraged mate! As you play more and more you’ll learn all the little tricks to speed up your voyages and cashing in that loot. Always keep an eye on the horizon and trust no one!

I solo’d to many hours to count in this game and in that time easily accumulated over a million gold doing so. You just have to be paranoid! Amazing what the sea can do to a persons mind...

When I hear people talk about being killed by other players. They say they want a PVE only mode I tell them this. Think of those players as a really tough random boss encounter. You win some you lose some. Learn from any mistakes you made, capture a clip during a fight and rewatch it to see what you could have done differently.

Best of luck on your voyages matey.
I look foreword to trading steel on the high seas someday!!

I agree. Some people like quests others like action. I prefer quests. I would love to have two modes. I would be thrilled to pick 2 different boats at the beginning either Q or A. I would love to have the quest mode get rid of megladons, skeleton ships and krakens.

  • I know what you mean and how you feel... I just wasted and hour and a half for four chest only to have some dumb punks camping around a trading post jump me and take everything!

  • Sadly this likely won’t happen and it’s best to keep your chin up and loot turned in sooner than later.

  • News flash...
If a mermaid is in the water..... some pirates are about..
When I played this game at launch, I always ALWAYS done a lap around the outpost to see if a mermaid is around. 8/10 times you can see the players jumping around the island "hardly hiding at all"
It's a pirate game!!!! Keep your head on a swivel & ears open for a scrub with an open mic.

  • @craxtrezy aaawwww...you lost loot, that you got in a hour? How cute...
Make that 4 hours and get robbed so you can talk about frustration

  • I disagree, I think PVP is an important part of what makes this game great, it's part of it'S spirit.

Basically you are still pretty new at the game from what you are saying. It sounds like you are not even trying to learn basics of PVP, strategies, counters, anything.

Right away you dig your heels and say "NO! I shall have none of this, the game should be changed to fit what I want, I should not have to adapt or learn it's intricacies whatsoever".

If you do end up getting a refund, I would suggest a different type of game might fit better to the gameplay you seek. eSail Sailing Simulator is very relaxing.

  • @bloodybil there really is a sailing simulator? Why are these people complaining about, when there is a game for them? They should blame themselfes for buying the wrong game...

  • You compare this game to gta 5 and that's a huge error. Gta5 can stand on its own without pvp however this game relies on pvp as part of the game play, it merges with the pve. THink of pvp as an rng boss battle, a battle that might happen or not while you sail in search of treasure. So many devs try so hard to develop a better AI that doesn't act artificial but in Rare's case, they added an enemy that is not artificial at all it's just intelligent. Removing the pvp from the equation makes pve easier, therefore voyages are easier which makes you progress through the game easier, so on and so on, basically tilting the game out of balance. This game is trying to do something unique with the pvpve hybrid so perhaps you should change your perspective on it. If not I recommend playing other games that are not hybrid systems. There are many games out there that don't rely on pvp and pve cohabitated reliance

  • Boo hoo, the game is too hard, dumb it down for me.
F.F.S., no wonder games have been horrible so far, it's cause of players like this.

  • Turn in your loot more often to cut down on your losses when they inevitably do happen, and when they inevitably do happen, don't let it get to you - there's always more gold upon the seas... ;)
