So the black smoke on the map, I've been watching it the last few days i've been playing. I'm still fairly new and I've been taking the game cautiously today because I feel like I'm either tripping and psyching myself out or it's actually happening. But do those black areas on the map grow and shrink at times? The overworld seems smaller, the sky and sea is gloomy right now even in day time, I can't even find some of the islands I have on this voyage I have up right now. What's going on in the world right now? Seems awfully eerie and all I can do is just stare at the horizon from gangplank grave outpost playing amazing grace on my hurdy gurdy.
I honestly don't know where to ask this but I can't find the answer.
@motolconker It sounds to me like you've spawned in to the Wilds, hence why it's always so gloomy. The black smoke is probably the storm, which is ever present and slowly moves around the map (therefore appearing to get larger or smaller). As for the islands you can't find, I can only suggest scrolling around the map table more - they're definitely there somewhere matey!
