@unwrappedrumble It seems that way. Similar to the other stronghold items like the chest and skull. They are worth a pretty penny when you manage to cash one in!

They confirmed in their livestream today that they only spawn in strongholds.
Sounded like Mike liked the idea of adding them to the skeleton ships. Will be interesting to see if that's added later.

@xcalypt0x yet we are able to board the ships and steal the loot and not even sink the ships but I agree that it should be possible.
