Jeanne de Clisson became a pirate during the 1300's to get revenge after her husband was beheaded. She sold her land to buy three warships, she then painted them black raised red sails, and then began her reign of terror on the seven seas.
She eventually caught the people responsible for her husbands death and beheaded the accused with an axe!
Truly a grizzly fate from this seafarering fable!
