I created an Expandable UI, simply a suggestion for a UI System that could be closer to what we are used to, instead of the new one.

@phuzzybond Ahoy matey!
Love this concept.... and on PC this would make my life much easier... How do you envisage this working on Xbox?
@musicmee I am currently looking at videos of XboX gameplay, since I do not own one, will try and see how this can work for both. Currently its mostly for PC.
@phuzzybond @Musicmee Im on console and love the look of this system. Maybe they could have it if you highlight the cannonballs for example. You could click your joystick to open the second radial menu.
It would also be good since they are talking about the new additions of extra foods and other stuff if you could “Hot key” certain items you like in the radial.
Either way nice job bud, I’m awful at things like that but I love it when people can make videos like yours to actually show us what you are thinking.
@knifelife Thank you :) If I had an XboX im sure I would've had this more convenient for both PC and XboX at the same time, but I would leave that to Rare if they consider this mechanism.
@phuzzybond I’ve been working a lot in Unity lately for some personal projects, I think I could get a good console version of what you’ve made working.
@haydensolo If the OP doesn’t mind i would love to see your console varient put into the thread he has such a great idea and it would be amazing to see more talent expanding up on:)
@phuzzybond Awesome job, mate.
It's the simple ideas like this that make us wonder about Rare's decisions to over complicate everything.
Is every new idea left up to the tunneled vision of one single person or are they a panel of yes-men all agreeing on the first suggestion any one of them make?
With over 30 years in the industry, a team of over 200 professionals and they still crawl extremely slow, head-on into brick walls.
Here you are, one person with more vision than the whole company and you knocked this out in a few hours. It says a lot.
@phuzzybond nice work, this is somthing closer to what i would have expected. Please continue to do more like this with the barrels and such. this is a fantastic demonstration.
@haydensolo I would love that! Even if I buy a controller and try to do something, I was never a console player, so even if I get it right, it might not "feel" right, this would be great if we can get it for both :)
I like the concept, but I have to wonder about which categories there would be if this method would be implemented. Some are easier than others, or can easily be expanded upon (cannonballs, food, and instruments for example), but others not so much... Also, with a limited number of slots in the initial categories (before the submenus), which kind of categories do you think could work or that you would implement?
@enf0rcer The barrels are a different issue, since your brain is already looking at more than one item to choose from, that is time-consuming by itself regardless of how the UI looks, but I will see if any ideas would come up to improve the barrels, also I think there is another post in this section regarding the barrels UI on XboX :)
