One good thing about music: when it his you, you feel no pain.

  • Ahoy maties!
As I was thinking about nice ideas / new and interesting ways to bring people together in the world of Sea of Thieves / adding new mechanics to enrich the journy regarding the weekly events, I had an idea (which possibly came to others before) how to get people to work together in a way that is far too underestimated in the game by now: playing music with other crews.
Similar to the past skeleton throne event I'd love to see an event where you team up with other players to play pirate shanties at certain spots all over the world. Giving concerts at abandonden ruins or the highest mountains with a bunch of scurvy landlubbers? YAR!

Music is a universal language and could be a more central aspect of the game than it is at the very moment. I imagine more instruments (like the banjo in the pirate hideout or sailors' superstitions about fiddles) and shanties you can achieve through social/musical interaction with others. Or collecting sheets for new shanties from lore books all over the world. Thinking about the banjo: why should you hold back items like this and possibilities coming along with it when you can offer them? Why, Rare?

In my opinion the music feature in the game would offer perfect tools to bring people together like the devs want to. There is so much wasted potential in this particular part of the game it almost brings me to tears.

I'm eager to hear you thoughts and opinions.

  • @b00zebeard I don't think anyone has reservations when it comes to events centered around forced co-op between crews.

  • Not sure if making a dead prez or Marley reference.

Also, I love this idea. I want a musical themed event now!
