I've noticed the Xbox app posts when I achieved 150,000 gold in each of the three factions.
It also announced when I first defeated the kraken and other simple tasks.
But not a mention of defeating the megalodon.
A commendation popped on my screen but as far as I know that's it. Four seconds of glory after all of that work hardly seems fair after being acknowledged by the Xbox app for defeating the kraken which is far easier.
Okay, the other commendations were already in-game when launched so I could understand that achievements had to be prearranged between Rare and Xbox staff who all fly under the Micro$oft banner. The left hand obviously neglected to consult the right on the new event. Something Rare have known for months.
Will it be like this for future events regardless of how much they eventually add to the game?
To some people the achievements are a huge deal. Pc gamers have it with Steam in the same sense as console players have achievements on the app.
Personally, I don't really make a big deal over them and have neven checked what's required for the next commendation(s), but I hold more regard for achievements than I do PL status.
Not taking anything away from pirate legends, just my own view and what it means to me. It shows my progression, like displaying how you worked out the answer to a math sum (the way teachers preferred to see it back in the day) instead of just arriving at the answer mysteriously, like looking at the back of the book for the answers or using a calculator.
I swear that I'll still hold the same opinion if and when I get to 50/50/50.
The game is said to be about the journey and not the end goal. Well then???

Should it have boosted our factions rep or even created a new "Events" rep?
