I've seen 6 sharks right next to an outpost while turning in loot. Just now I was killed by 4 sharks while swimming in between 2 of the islands on Snake Island earlier tonight, right as I got on the beach. Sharks don't swim in shallow waters. Take them out of islands, or at least outposts, or design something a way so they don't eat you while you're literally on the shore.
Nerf the Sharks
@captancola not gunna lie they are a pain in the backside at the moment we only have to put up with them for another couple of days Its because of the run up to hungering deep so I believe that they will change the spawns once that has been released if they don't it will be a major problem in the future
@captancola I feel your pain. But this game is not suppose to be easy by any means.
I personally don't like all the sharks. bUT it does give it a more challenge to collect your stuff.
Also I feel it will help out wig the people lulling skeletons right at the edge of the water also.
I really think they should keep em the way they are. Yea it's intense, but your a pirate not a fairy princess. So none of this should be easy by any means.Since when can a shark explode a gun powder barrel by biting it? We rescued 3 gun powder barrels and some loot from a ship we sank and 2 of us got our barrels on board one was in the crows nest, I was halfway up the mast with mine and a third party member was on the ladder when a shark leapt from the water biting the barrel exploding it, and mine, and the one in the crows nest. Killing all 4 of us and sending our ship to the bottom in a fiery 3 pronged explosion of epic proportions. The shark in question killed himself and his 24 other shark compatriots that spawned because we were free diving the loot left over from the sinking of our enemy. Fair? I think not but hey Its a pirates life.
Yesterday we sank a galleon that just cleared a fort, all the loot was in the water when a third galleon rammed us. I hadn't had this much fun in a long time in Sea of Thieves and the sharks were a big part of it. It was just a big pile of skulls, chests, sharks and people swimming for their lives.
This was PvEvP at it's finest.Players want new stuff..
New DLC coming...
Rare put some early tease in the game, allowing to notice some unusual Shark rage which allow us to ask The new character Merrick (that was already teased in the the game) about that...
Players do not understand and starts to complain about it...Please Rare give us nothing! Players can't handle your generosity...
To be honest.. I hope they never nerf the sharks.
They've served me quite well in protecting me from constant boarders and if you know the rock at keelhaul fort to the west... it's rather the distance.
Yet before the alteration I or other crews could park behind it and swim all the way to a fort to board or harass opposing skull raiders...
Now.. I make it, nearly on the first try only (or after a break in attempts). But only actually make the distance by perhaps 2/3rd of the way, and that presumes I have full bananas.
It was far too easy to swim from island to island before the change.
let alone ship to ship.
The sharks... they bring us together...
And frankly, the sharks were an insult to the game before the patch... I've died to FEW of them accidentally... even shark roulette has taken over five minutes in the water to get killed... That's too long IMO. Now they are actually a moderate threat. Let alone a valid PvP tool. You can't COUNT on them to protect you from boarders... but now they really do make it more of a challenge.
Sadly, I admit I despise that their presence will indicate someone in the water much more easily, I admit that.
Sharks spawning on turn in/by islands that could remain the same. Players shouldn't be worried they will die by sharks while turning in loot - but even that has a moderate argument in that.... learn to park? If your getting your feet wet without choice on turn in... you need to learn to dive, or slow down your rush... but despite that remark I do support lowered outpost shark spawns.

I agree, I dont really care how, but the waters must be made more dangerous.(kept as is right now)
@Captancola for swimming to shore, there are docks, there are multiple way to get your ship close to the shore - skillful sailing is the key here. diving to a shipwreck? it should be dangerous, not a leisure activity as it was.
If its sharks or any other kind of danger but I like the current thrill.I'm very skilled at the game, but I PvP a lot so I see sharks a lot. I didn't park poorly, I sunk a ship that got back from a skull fort. If you insulted me, feel free to add me in game and I'll show you how much better I am than you.
@Lucky-Monkee
@sanniI'm [mod edit] because all they did was change 2 max sharks to 6. No content, just garbage npcs. Killing sharks also gives away your position so you kind of just have to let them bite.

Thank you for giving an explanation for that. I was wondering what was happening with them! lol
@captancola I wasnt trying to insult you. Just saying having more sharks - more dangerous waters needs more planning then it has so far. you just cant go diving inand think I am gonna swim to the boat 50miles away.

Sharks do swim in shallow waters. Most shark attacks happen in water that is about thigh-waist deep.
And ReptarTheory never went swimming again...

Holy ****. That shark sounds like the most awesomest shark there ever was. Sinking a ship and killing it's crew in one strike. Deserves a memorial or something. I hope the Pirate Times writers have heard this story.
