Can we get a real scope and/or iron sight option for rifle?

    I've got plenty of complaints about all the guns, the rifle included, but having a crack on the lens in place of an actual cross-hair doesn't help. Sure it's clever and was cool to begin with, but it's not super viable at long range because of it.

    Also having an iron sight option, similar to the pistol, would be awesome and help in fights with blunderbuss spammers especially if they added on OHK head shots like they SHOULD!

    @capn-daxio Headshots cant happen because of cross play. They probably won't make those other changes because this isn't meant to be a shooter game. The weapons are purposefully restrictive to force swordplay.

    What kind of technology do you think they had in the pirate era?

    The only pistol skin that even has an ironsight is the Ebon skin, to my knowledge, and even then it doesn't make a difference, if headshots are not a mechanic.

    @blam320 the ferry man pistol skin pretty much has an iron sight as well. the unicorn horn is pretty accurate as one.

    A 1sk sniper would be pretty much the worst thing Rare could add to Sea of Thieves besides a 4 men sloop.🤐

    Not that this game strives for accuracy...

    Scopes did not really come into the picture until the 1830's iirc. Of course iron sights have been around since rifles.

    Crew served weapons other than cannons could be fun( Puckle gun) or revolvers( they did have revolving weapons back then)

    @sanni Shall I assume you're a blunderbuss spammer then? It makes sense, headshots should be OHK, otherwise the pistol and rifle have NO point unless you're on PC.

    @blam320 this is just about correct, the mercenary pistol is a pallet swap of the ebon flintlock i believe. So i suppose that makes 3 total if you count ferrymans as well. Seems like the easiest to get would be mercenary.

    Also, even if headshots arent counted, the iron sight greatly improves my accuracy over a standard round barrel flintlock. More hits more kills.

    I find no difference. I know to point the gun barrel in their general direction and hit the chest.
