New ways to earn gold

    I don’t like how the only possible way to make gold is to sell the items from voyages, there’s been so many times I spend hours grinding out these chest to just be sunk on my way to the outpost... not saying I don’t agree or saying it’s unfair because just that I just did all that for nothing. My suggestion is to make it where skeletons drop gold when killed I’m not saying a lot but maybe 5 to 10 gold a skeleton so it would add up and in that case my hours of grinding I at least got maybe 1k of gold.

    @crested-soul I think gold should only be rewarded upon turning in a chest, skull, or animal. However, I think Rare should give an X amount of exp for completing voyages to encourage players to completely finish a voyage and so that if they do end up getting sunk or pillaged they at least progress a little in the game.

    @je0rgie-p0rgie @Crested-Soul Here is a link to a post that I feel is a great compromise and honestly the best way to quickly fix the problem of losing all your progress. Basically reward a large percent (I personally think 80%) xp on voyage completion and all gold and the remaining xp on loot turn in. This still gives enough incentive for PvP while not throwing away all the work that PvE players did because of stolen chests. Give us our XP for finishing a voyage, not turning in the chest/soul/animal.

    @je0rgie-p0rgie my personal opinion on it is that this game is only about how you look the gold you have and what you spent it on, yes you can become legendary when level 50 everything but even the. It’s still based off of how you look I work 10 hours a day for 5 days a week and I love this game but I just don’t have the time to sink into the game and grind out the gold, I also think it would be cool if they made it benefit you to kill the kraken and earn some gold out of it but all you get is an achievement

    @i-am-lost-77 Yeah I've seen you post about that thread a couple of times now. I don't disagree with that suggestion. I think it's relatively fair for the most part since gold is the only way to buy cooler looking cosmetics. However, that means less exp for pirates stealing loot. Sure they get the gold but let's be real most of us are looking to achieve that "Pirate Legend" status. The numbers may need some adjusting but I think the idea is on the right track.

    @crested-soul Yeah I was a bit disappointed with the lack of rewards for killing the Kraken as well but from what I've read it's supposed to just be like a storm in the sense that it's just a random event that can happen. We're not supposed to go looking for it so to speak. Like I've said I'm all for letting people who put the initial leg work into finding the treasure during voyages earn some type of exp but I think the gold should be limited to turning in loot.

    @je0rgie-p0rgie The player who does the experience should get the xp and PvP is the most inefficient method of getting xp anyway so they are clearly not going for legend anytime soon. I also want the inclusion of a PvP faction with the end goal to become a Fearsome Pirate legend.

    @je0rgie-p0rgie I understand what you mean but my personal point that I feel others may share is the pointless hours thrown away when I’m sunk and left with nothing. Because in the end I did put in the work for those chest or skulls and got nothing. If not earning gold from skeletons then maybe after the voyage is complete you get some ex and some gold just for finishing it, then the big rewards come in to play when you finally make it to an outpost and sell

    @je0rgie-p0rgie Yeah, I think the best thing for the game is to encourage people to finish their voyages, which of course can be risky if you have a lot of treasure, but that's like the big excitement in the game. You have a lot of treasure and you're worried about your ship being sunk. I think it's terrible spending hours though and having it be wasted, so there should be a decent amount of exp for finishing the voyage, and more gold for turning in the chests or whatever.
