  • I think this guy is making a good run for president.
    Tho i dont like the idea of 6-10 man crew ship or the idea of a "friendly" outpost.
    Tho Sea creatues like turtles, dolphins and whales would make the world even more amazing than it already is.

    I would like to see some rewards for doing achievements. Like sink 200 player ships and get this cool hat. Something which will make your pirate more special, since people can see what type of pirate you are.

    Kill 250 players with a blunderbuss to get a new cool looking blunderbuss.

    Stuff like that would keep me going for years - then it wouldnt be all about the voyages and skeleton forts (tho i like that too)

  • When I read the topics title I thought to myself this guy better not mention safe outposts, mini games on ships and fishing and yet here we are. 😅

  • I don't like the idea for safe outposts, but I do like the idea of a single, safe Tortuga type place. Maybe not let us sell chests and loot there, but put the shops there and let people using it for a gathering area that you can briefly let your guard down and have fun.

  • I like the idea of a few side things like gambling or additional tavern "to dos". I enjoy relaxing on an island or outpost but I can only stumble around puking for so long as most of the time I sail solo.

    The catch with a lot of npc stuff is countered by the "need" for a safe zone. If things are so hostile the game needs safe zones then adding additional world activities is just asking for additional trouble. As a solo sailor I personally haven't felt the need for a safe zone. I'm not really a big pvper but I enjoy what interactions I've had for the most part and have learned how to avoid violent situations which is part of the fun.

    On the safe zone point I do feel there needs to be some sort of Hub port, maybe replacing the boring crew ledger menu before entering the game world. Just a place to walk around with you character outside of the active game world allowing you to meet people, put together a crew to then enter the game with, socialize, etc. I would rather get to know some people first versus just queing up and seeing what happens. I agree with the pvp direction but if they want to build a community game I feel they need to put some polish on the other side of the community coin but I DO NOT think the safe zone should be within the game world. Placing it in game sends me back to Pirates of the Burning Seas MMO with blockades and people camping the edge of safe zones. This will not solve your safety issues.
