In playing with 3 friends, since not all my friends are online most of the time for a 4 man crew, I've found that the galleon is not balanced for 3 people to manage in a battle. I suggest that you add a 2 mast ship like a brigantine as a 3 person only ship this would balance the game out really well for 3 person only crews.
New 3 person ship idea
I don't see the issue here, the 4 man crew is often made up by the match-making when new people login to the game. Admittedly sometimes this can take a few minutes.
I've been on a galleon on my own once as everyone went to bed after we cashed in at an outpost. It took about 5 minutes before another 3 new crew members spawned in but I could still leave the dock and sail the ship on my own. Luckily I wasn't attcked.
It'd be nice to have different ships in the sea scape though.

Ya but I usually only play with my friends we usually don't try to que up with randoms mainly because the past few times we have they end up spawning in the ship while we are in the middle of a mission and try to steal the treasure and jump off the ship with it... Or they try to crash the ship... So when there's 3 of us we always que up for the 3 person galleon.
@g4m3r-junky I don't understand the "stealing the treasure" as if one of your crew (Random or Invited) sells it at a merchant you all get a share. Maybe you're not playing on Xbox and it works a little differently.

I am playing on Xbox regardless some people are trolls when they join in they will try to run around with your loot and hide it then leave... Others decide to blow your ship up with explosive barrels then leave. Your experience may have been good so far but because of my crews experience we are at the point of throwing randoms in the brig as soon as they join the match.
