For me, no. I do not want my progression from the previous sessions to carry over. I want to start fresh and officially come the actual launch of the game.

Wow have to say the comments on here are amazing I have to say wipe it even tho I only played the last scale test. Great community don't ever lose this ya bunch of scallywags. After playing ESO since dropping on Xbox and ps4 the people on PC got to change over with all their goodies, it made the game unbalanced it took months and months to catch up and in pvp that hurt. So another vote for wiping and starting from scratch

Having been in since the alphas, and hitting 25 in gold hoarders 4-5 times now, I'm fine with starting over.
Your reward for helping test the game is getting to play it. Half, if not more of you were begging Rare for an open beta, or several post-closed beta sessions, and you got them, which has greatly narrowed the gap between the original game plan of finishing the closed beta and then not playing till release. You have the pleasure of accessing the game almost every weekend, and Rare gets their data. Seems fair to me.
No, I have done many beta tests going back to my first one, Motor City Online. Never, and I mean never did our beta progression carry into the game when it went live, nor should it. The reward for beta testing is just that, you got a chance to test and play the game ahead of most other people. That is it.
An overwhelming amount of players disagree, and I promise you rare won't agree with you. Sorry you want somthing that won't happen. I had full admiral gear and I'm not only ok with restarting, I'm glad I will be. It makes it so every player knows how they compare to there fellow pirate on an even playing field. No head starts. To me, it makes everything feel like more of accomplishment. To be honest tho it doesn't matter what my reasons are for feeling that way. It's just the way it's gonna be.
With the number of people limited to an instance in the scale testsand doing voyages for two hours without seeing anyone.I 100% agree with the progression reset if they weren’t gunna reset progression I would have spent a lot more time on building rep and grinding gold for the new items to come out. I definitely wouldn’t have spent multiple hours just searching the map to see if anyone else was on it and what they were doing. I do believe it’s going to be a little harder to gain rep when it goes live.
Not exactly, Because the progression carried over would also include experience gained for the Gold Hoarders. Anyone who only did that would be halfway to Legendary pirate. Far ahead of others. While it would be nice for our items and gold to carry over, it isn't necessary.
Like after each stress test and Alpha session, it should be reset. A level playing field for all.

Everything will be reset like in all game.The fact that the progression will not be 100% same at release is enough to tell you that it can’t happen.
Your time using the game mechanics is already a big advantage, and your reward is that you can tell people that you was helping Rare before the game came out !

At most, some games will give you a title for being a beta tester, but that's it. No 'rewards' and no saved progression. Everyone starts off on the same foot.
@ghost101mm The beta test is mainly just to show/test the gameplay. and RARE has been amazing doing scale test as well, not a lot of companies do that. it would be cool to keep my money and costumes I have gotten but on the other hand. I wouldn't mind starting over cause the game is amazing and it's not a big deal to me.
I agree with those in favor of a fresh start. I purposefully chose a weird looking pirate knowing that it would not carry over. Part of the fun of this game is progressing through the levels. When I got the first riddle map after all the "X marks the spot" maps, I was super excited.
Having some kind of item to mark being part of the alphas and betas would not be bad, but even that is unnecessary.@ghost101mm Totally against this. Not everyone played the beta. Fresh start on launch day, your experience will already be advantageous.

I think that the beta player progression should cross over into the full game because it would be a reward to the people who helped RARE make the game better(testing).

This would be pretty cool. Whether it be some type of clothing, a pet, a special tattoo that's on our character, etc. I do not want the progression to carry over. The scale test(s) and beta were their own experience. I want launch to be it's own as well .
absolutely not, my $$$ are the reward for the devs, having a huge head start on the rest of us is your reward for helping beta test. This my knee jerk reaction, based on every other game I`ve helped test....doing this makes new players quit. That said, far as we know all the "rewards" are just cosmetic any ways...so ???
