KRAKEN howling sounds heard, then our boat got pulled! {video}

    We totally understand that the KRAKEN is not in the Closed Beta... but this footage was too good not to share.

    Story: It's been about 5 minutes since we docked and turned in all our chests. After selling them, we started to browse the stores looking for something to purchase and that's when we started to hearing monster howling noises!! We ran outside to investigate near where we parked our boat and stood on the beach. Then.. out of the blue, our ship that was anchored started getting pulled! We both looked in amazement...

    What do you guys think? Could this have been the KRAKEN saying hello or could this have been a bug?

    Interesting...
    Well, the kraken wouldnt be so close to shores, but this was a nice coincidence.

    We thought it was a whale at first, but after some days playing we started doubting this theory.

    So then when we heared this sound we just froze with a little bit of fear XD

    im going to go out on a limb here and say yes that was the kraken swimming near by causing a tide change.

    But, but... the Kraken lives!

    Honestly, our boat was sitting there for about 10 minutes. For it to move around that same time is mysterious!

    @vipeness That in all honesty, is creepy and amazing at the same time! In all the time ive been playing i have never seen that happen.

    I wonder if you are right and Rare are giving teases of things to come! Thanks for sharing that is very eye opening!

    That is a glitch in the beta actually. Sometimes the game would not recognize that the anchor was down and ship would still move.

    It could be fixed by raising and then dropping anchor again.

    Not to be a party pooper but what happend was you ankered the boat a little too close to land and the game pushed it out a bit to sea to prevent the boat from getting stuck and the sounds were just coincidence. But hey! Pretty cool.

    @the-lion-turtle Yup. You can also see the back of the boat hit ground and auto move away. That was the sound when it moved.

    This is how legends are born. :) Very cool (even just being a glitch).

    On a side note, it sounds more like a whale than a kraken to me, but either way I can't wait to figure out what the sound actually is!

    The boat moving was probably the glitch, and most of the sounds I have heard before.

    But the one at around 0:30 was new to me. Sounded way different than the other ones.

    Wow! So. COOL! So sad I didn't get the chance to share my adventures on the seas while I had the chance during the the Closed Beta. But this is the coolest thing I have seen so far!

    I've seen this happen before with the boat turning ever so slightly and thinking its on land. It will then "slide" back off the land like shown in the video... That timing though makes it perfect haha.

    your sloop probably grazed the shore, you docked awfully close. Since there is a feature to automatically remove your boat from land it would cause your boat to drift.
