The Saddest Gifts in Sea of Thieves

  • Why won’t pirates sell gifts left at Reapers?

I mean honestly… it costs you absolutely nothing to be a decent human… err, pirate.

You sail up, you see a little lonely gift sitting there like
“please sir, I just want to be delivered…” 🎁🥺

And what do some pirates do?
    Ignore it.
    Like emotional baggage… but wetter.

Meanwhile, I’m over here like a charitable sea grandma—
“Oh look at that, someone left a present! Let’s go deliver it, dear.” ☕🏴‍☠️

Not only do you get paid in doubloons…
but you also get that warm fuzzy feeling of helping out another pirate who probably got sunk five times and rage-quit.

    It’s basically pirate karma.

And yet… some of y’all wake up and choose violence.

I swear, not every pirate needs to be a villain in their own origin story.
Some of us are just trying to run a wholesome gift delivery service with cannons.

Anyway… if you see me out there…
I’ll be the one aggressively being nice. 💅🏴‍☠️

  • Multiple problems with this leaving behind method.

1 - Loot present on any and all islands gets reset/deleted after 60~120 minutes

2 - if other players sell your gifts while you are no longer online/on that same server, you will not be credited

  • The "gifts" are kinda silly. "Oh hey! Flameheart Jr! I stole this present outa one of your big old forts! here it is back! Now pay up!" It should be worth rep, not gold. Who buys a gift off someone????

  • Why won’t pirates sell gifts left at Reapers?

Often dont see them, the reward isnt worth it.

it costs you absolutely nothing to be a decent human… err, pirate.

Also doesnt cost enough to do it.

When I was grinding for those comms, I'd pull up to a ship and kindly ask for one of them to come with me to sell it for me. If I had to log off for the night/couldn't find another player, I used to leave the gift next to the NPC along with a storage crate full of supplies or an ashen winds skull, rag and bone crate,/something, to thank whoever turned it in/sold it for me. Leaving just the gift to be sold would hardly benefit them, while extremely benefitting me. So, leaving behind supplies/profitable treasure seemed fair. I had no problem getting mine sold by doing this.
