Does anyone else think Reapers needs some fixes?

  • So I have noticed this a lot. I have a few issues and ideas. I have mentioned these before but not in a full post.
    1: Not enough Reaper voyages: This is just kinda disgraceful. Look at Athena's Fortune. They have lots of voyages, including ones where you get the chest of fortune/legends, the skull of destiny, and other stuff. also has extra raid voyages. Reapers bones has just 2 different voyages (not counting ashen mode) and both involve running around and digging up skellies. My suggestion is adding voyages like Reaper fort defense (fighting off dark brethren, skellies give loot as reward) Athena fort raid where you turn the tables (why everyone including reapers picking on SotF forts?) and raid voyages. Any ideas for other reaper voyages?
    2: Curse cosmetics: We need more options for the skelly curse. All skeleton lord cosmetics (more than the mutinous helmsman's wheel and two faced scoundrels faces), All ashen lord cosmetics including a set of ashen lord bones. Ability to wear normal cosmetics like Grimm's jacket and cursed captains wheel, More non plastic ish bone colors, and hair. Agree? disagree? Further ideas?
    3: Ability to sell smuggler stuff to Reapers: I know I posted about this, pls don't lock, I just wanted to compile my ideas. We need the ability to sell the smuggler stuff to Reapers to save on time and energy. they are supposed to be confiscating it so why not help em out? Since the smuggler stuff is everywhere now, it's only fair that we can sell to Reapers
    Would love to hear opinions on this. Any other ideas?

    1. You have to wind back the clock to understand that, technically, EVERY voyage could be a Reaper voyage. You can plot the voyage, but raise Reaper Emissary. Back in the old days, Reaper had a huge advantage over the others in that it was the only place that basically took whatever you wanted to sell (you know those late night commercials about guys who want to buy gold? That was Reaper), but also gave out reputation, too. It was pretty unfair until Sovs came along, so wanting 100% Reaper-tailored quests is sorta greedy.

    2. Curse cosmetics: I swear, you people and your cosmetics. A Day 1, level 0 in everything pirate can take as many bullets as your super duper level 80,000 super saiyan Flameheart III cosmetic. What actually changed is the weapons. Blunderbuss got heavily nerfed because everyone and their dog thought it was a shotgun. If you GENUINELY want to complain abotu cosmetics, petition Rare to include historically accurate ones, or add some particle effects or something.

    3. Reaper's Hideout is...not a safe area. J10 is where the Ship Event spawns and there's usually some Reaper's heading home to sell or making a pilgrimage or something. Imagine someone hitting your Smuggler's Keg from one of the tower's on Reaper's and just blasting your boat to pieces? Never mind the storms, lightning, and possible traps set by people. The places to turn in Smuggler loot already include places with ghosts, skeletons and semi-active volcanoes, so there's no real point in adding Reaper's to the list.

  • Well yes, but I would like new voyages and direct rep. Well, we want to look like real skellies and not plastic things. why is the pirate skelly head so weird???? I do think the game is straying from pirate stuff. I just think about the fact that you paddle all over the map just to sell smuggler stuff. reapers are supposed to be loot junkies. I would prefer risking player attacks over spending the whole day going door to door selling stuff

    1: Reapers is still a secret hideout at the moment. Too much voyages would draw too much attention. Plus it's more of a PvP faction. Why else would it mark them on the map? You don't want to fight a newbie Reaper five who's like: "yeah, just trying to to do a voyag! pls no fight!" yet they are a REAPER. maybe they will get more voyages in the future but as of right now it doesn't make much sense.

    2: more curse cosmetics would be nice. but then you'd have to balance it out with Athena's and stuff. Nobody wants a rainbow ghost with sparkles.

    Have a Rave skeleton curse that's constantly flashing different colors and plays Dubstep when you go near it for some reason.

    Sovereigns dont accept Reaper Loot, Athena doesnt accept Reaper loot. No other faction accepts reaper loot. So why make Reapers accept?

    they are supposed to be confiscating it so why not help em out?

    Reaper and Dark Brethern dont see eye to eye, why would they help?

  • More availability of Reaper specific loot would be nice (Urns and Caskets). The number set for the gold tier at 360 is quite high indeed. Originally requiring 180 voyages (either done yourself or stolen). I've done that voyage a quite a few time now (50-60ish), as a voyage its fine but it's not so interesting that I want to do it 180 times. There's been some improvements with the fancy version of the urn and casket being in Reaper Forts and temporarily at Molten Sands but I don't think it goes quite far enough. I don't know why we ended up with an Athena raid version of the Reaper fort. There has been countless times I've sailed to one and its been an abandoned Athena raid. A Reaper raid version of the Reaper fort would have been ideal. Give a mix of urns and caskets plus a banished skull or two to help those who still need their stolen skulls.

    Perhaps another turn in point near the roar also. Doing ashen version of the reaper voyages, the current molten sands event and perhaps the new Ashen garrisons so far away from a turn in point is not ideal. If not a new "hideout", then perhaps allow the outpost skeletons to take urn/caskets as it already takes flags. But other trading company loot should have to go back to the hideout for reaper benefits. Might be a nice compromise.

I don’t particularly care about too many skeleton cosmetics, I JUST WANT ASHEN LORD STUFF!!! Please add ashen lord cosmetics. And It doesn’t really “balance out” about Athena’s fortune not taking reaper stuff. The point is reapers needs to take SMUGGLERS stuff

  • Yeah, but there are a TON OF COMPLAINTS about these "first world" problems. Also real glitch that I am SICK OF is whenever I raid a skelly fort, 9 times out of 10 the map is for the wrong fort. I am sick of it. Sometime I am at keel haul and I get a kraken watchtower map

    Please add my name to the list of people who couldn't care less about what Reaper cosmetics are available. Or any cosmetics, really.

    This might be a glitch; I don't know for sure.

    I call Burden of Proof. You can't just say "everyone just happens to want the same things I want and nobody wants what you want". BurnBacon and I diced your "requests" to pieces, so there's no point in this. I'd love to have more historically-accurate weaponry, but nah, gotta have Halo weapons and Killer Instinct references.

  • Ok. I totally agree that the weapons are not very accurate, but in this sense, historically accurate went out the window yeeeeaaaaaarss ago. Pirates never buried treasure. The tide would wash it away. Pirate didn't walk the plank. They keelhaul. Pirates didn't generally attack one another. Skellys, are DEAD. Phantoms don't exist, and even if they did, bullets and swords would do NOTHING. Pretty much any of those musket balls would be fatal. a blundy wouldn't really do anything to a skelly. You don't heal a broken leg in 10 seconds. You can't be a sneeze from death and then eat a banana and be all right (tho if you are dying of cramps, WELL!) You don't have solid metal dogs. If the wind isn't blowing the way you want to go, you have to wait. When you die, you don't appear on a ghost ship and jump through a portal and ZAM! you live! Firebreathing ships??? Not a British navy ship to annoy you?? Pirates very rarely had pegs and hooks. normally you'd die of infection. Eyepatches are fact tho
