Pistol sound

    I wanted to give some feedback on the new sound added in the latest season. Honestly, I find the new sound really unpleasant, and I don’t understand why something that has been in the game for so long, without complaints from players, needed to be changed. The old sound was iconic and part of the game’s atmosphere – players have grown used to it over hundreds of hours of gameplay and many really liked it.

    I think it would be great if Rare could at least give players the option to switch between the old and new sound. This way, people who enjoyed the original sound wouldn’t be forced to deal with something they don’t like. It wouldn’t affect players who prefer the new sound, and it could help keep the community happy overall.

    Thanks for considering this, and I hope you find a solution that works for as many players as possible.

    @kianonboard 100 people, 100 tastes. No one ever complained about the pistol sound, and Rare should at least give players more options. The same goes for things like the hit marker – it doesn’t affect anyone negatively, and the community would definitely appreciate it.

    @fellow77307 That's because they've gotten so used to it.. just wait a couple of days and you'll start to get used to it and like it more. People don't like sudden change.

    Player used the pistol? Hmm.
    Well as long it still shoots, and kills. The sound a player makes when it kills them will always sound the same.

    I don't like it either, it sounds dull, like I'm wearing an ear plug or behind a wall or something. The other one had a pop to it

    I honestly don't understand how this made it into the game, while there are.. however many posts asking for changes to hourglass. Not one time have I ever seen a post asking for the pistol sound to change.

    I know I'm just probably way too used to the old one after so many years...

    ...but man. Comparing to the old one, this one sounds like shooting from a bb gun. It's just weak lol.

    @r3vanns Rare should just give players more options to set up the game the way they want when it doesn’t affect others.

    "Doesn't affect others ...". Exactly. Especially since we're talking about a sound file here ...

    I don't mind the new sound effect - I think it sounds far more accurate to actual Flintlock-style weaponry. I didn't mind the old sound effect, but it didn't sound like an actual gun firing imho.
