When you start the game there are so many steps:
Enter
Esc from cinematic (can turn off)
Esc from add
Play
Adventure/Legend/Maiden
High/Safer
Ship Type
Ship
Crew Type
Confirm
Set Sail
It's too many clicks when I basically use the same choices for 90% of my sessions. On that last screen give me a checkbox that says something like Remember These Choices and then present that to me as an option on the Play screen that gets me straight into the game.
Could help newer players deal with the daunting task of figuring out what kind of beginning they are trying to find.
Big difference between someone with thousands of hours of experience and people that are confused by pretty much everything going on in SoT as they start out.
Game has a wild amount of things to figure out and remember when starting out, that's fine in adventure, but it doesn't need to apply to menus as much.
They've already let hoppers go wild with decisions made in the game, menu stuff doesn't change that sort of thing in any substantive way.
