Weird Pop-Up | Pirate Text Box - Gaming UI | PC

    Anyone seen this when trying to use Pirate Text, I don't know why it started popping up and I've reset most of my game settings and updated Xbox Game Bar and Windows Apps.

    this happened to me right after the GDK update i have stopped using chat now as it takes way to long to type anything now lol

    This happened to me immediately following the huge ~100 gb update. I put in a support ticket but they closed it immediately saying they didnt have a solution. I guess it's up to us to find a fix and I am out of ideas.

    Can say that I downloaded the Steam version and this is not an issue, just the Windows PC client version.

    It took me awhile to notice... but the xbox logo briefly shows up in the box before it switches to the text input box. Is this a helpful clue? I looked around in the xbox game bar settings... but didnt see anything I thought was useful....

    @tommybermuda It's definitely tied to either the Xbox App or Game Bar but I have no clue if it's a setting or not.

    I can confirm... my main account is impacted using the windows store version.
    When I play on the same account with steam, this does not happen.

    Ok... I have been digging further... anyone have any updates or solutions yet?

    I noticed that, when the popup is active, there is an app running in my Task Manager called "Gaming UI". This is related to another process in Task Manager called tcui-app.exe. These are both part of the Microsoft Gaming Service program that is also separately running.

    When I go into add/remove programs and find "Gaming Services", I tried repairing and resetting. The only other option is to "terminate". When I select Terminate with the gaming UI box open in SoT, the gaming UI box goes away... but comes back again when I press T in game again.

    Anyone able to use this to find and share a solution? Is there another menu for settings on "Gaming Services" that someone knows about?

    @captainlogun same problem for me... i reinstall the game after 1 years and the tchat ingame (microsoft store) open ui xbox gaming service :( no issue

    They need to remove this feature or at least give us a toggle for it as it’s so annoying to text chat now

    Any update? I sent like 2-3 requests and CS comes back with nothing, redirects me with audio issues and this is not definitely related with our mic. It is so annoying.

    This is driving me crazy, sometimes crashing SoT when dropping me to desktop. Did anyone find a solution?

    If you are playing on the Microsoft of Sea of Thieves version but have the Steam app (not Steam SoT, just the actual main Steam launcher) open/running in the background, try right-clicking and closing Steam from the Taskbar.

    Got this problem after I have wiped my pc and was re-installing sea of thieves on microsoft. It's the most annoying thing ever, and no one seems to have a solution yet... Could it be something with windows updates??

    @marmatrix5093 Probably, I know it's tied to Xbox app/Game Bar, I ended up installing the Steam client it got so annoying.

    hey I was having the same problem logging into Xenoverse 2 and tried everything I saw in this post, but I tried ending the task from the Task Manager called "Gaming Services" (not the Gaming UI task). Ending the Gaming Services task fixed the Gaming UI bug. I hope this helps.
