An expansion to the trident system to bring new ways to play without making new features.
Many individuals have tried to replicate the power of tridents to varying degrees of success however none have managed to rival the power and durability of the original Trident of Dark Tides made by the Sirens/Mer-folk.
Most ideas below can either be implemented as single charged tridents with a maximum of 15-20 charges or act more like the ashen winds skull with approximately 20 seconds worth of use, in which they fire a continuous stream of whatever effect they hold. This is ultimately Rare's decision should any be added however I believe making these new items weaker than the original Dark Tides or Ashen skull would help with balance as some could be abused very easily.
- Trident of Burning Blades (Reaper's Trident) Fire Damage
- Trident of Serpent's Kiss (Ancient's Trident) Poison Damage
- Trident of Grog (Bilge Rat's Trident) No Damage but makes target drunk (grogball)
- Trident of Broken Bones (Order of Soul's Trident) No Damage, except to skeletons, but makes target limp (limpball)
The more overpowered options would include Jigball and Wearyball effects but even with only 5 charges such a trident could easily be exploited and be wildly overpowered, A Trident of Peace may also be overpowered depending on how many charges however it could target both players and ships (one 5 charged Trident of Peace could take a galleon and its entire crew out of fighting in a seconds of combat so maybe not) and any other purple cursed cannonball could easily be spammed against crews to end a fight in seconds if the receiving targets are unlucky enough, this is probably why cursed cannonball were never turned into throwables.
