I've been grinding the original Tall Tales lately, trying to get the gold curse. While doing these, I dont collect loot or really even supplies because Im not good at PvP and dont have an interest in struggling in a loosing fight if/when I come across someone whose intent on KOS because ultimately itll set me back several hours that I just dont have. Today, not once but 3 times Ive had a brig or galley stroll up on my sloop and sink it while I was doing Fate of the Morningstar. That island is so massive that I cant possibly tell when someone is approaching my boat, nor are any of my friends willing to sit through Tall Tales anymore (they only play to get the PvP curses at this point). So time and time again I get my ship sank, which often has a tall tale item on it, and I fail because I didnt know my ship was sank. Why do people do this? Its one thing to sink someone that has loot, or even to ransack their ship and take all their supplies. Both of which Im fine with. But if you only see tall tale items on my boat that have no monetary value, what do you get out of sinking me? Idk Im just getting burnt out tbh. I dont mind engaging in PvP when I can actually defend myself but sometimes it really does just set me back several hours and wastes my time. Im just tired of dealing with people who only play to explicitly suck the fun out of the game for other people, yknow.
Just need to vent.
If you're interested sometime you are welcome to do Fate of the Morningstar on my sloop
I'll take care of my ship and you do what you gotta do so you don't gotta worry about the boat
I don't care about mics or talking or anything like that, you can completely pretend I'm not even around, won't bother me any
otherwise, things can get rough out there for someone without a lot of connections, it can get anyone frustrated. Crawling through the mud in the cold rain can be worth it but sometimes it's not, just remember it's just a cosmetic, sometimes cosmetics aren't worth that crawl. You can do it, it's alright to tap out when it's necessary.
@paladinjukes would highly suggest getting a buddy to do it with. Wolfmanbush has offered their ship and services to help you if you don’t have someone you can rely on. Otherwise, try and hide your ship round the back of the island, lights off, sails up, anchor up, and no bright flag or anything on display.
