Customizing the your ship banner on the ship select screen

I don't know if it is a bug or not, but I noticed the banner for my ships on the ship select screen don't match the banner of my ship in game. It seems to pick the banner matching the alignment that ship has the most progress in, which would make sense if you haven't unlocked the ability to pick the banner.
