Suggestion: Stamina in Sea of Thieves

  • As I noticed that small break when you sword lunge when your pirate regains their breath, I was wondering why Stamina isn't a thing in the game.

It could be a few tweaks like our pirate gets back to the regular speed after X seconds of sprinting/ swimming. Another addition I would suggest would be that our character jump lower and lower the more times they jump, until a 2 or 3 seconds before jumping at their maximum height once more and so on...

These changes would be able to provide a bit more chances for players engaging in sword/ gun combat and would make a better experience than currently jumping around relentlessly in hope to kill our opponent.

  • I've never played a game where stamina isn't annoying and frustrating. No thanks.

  • I don't like it

but specifically on the hopping around while pvping, that's just common/popular it's not necessary or even the most efficient approach much of the time

if you watch some of the more skilled deck fighters in the game you'll see a lot more side to side stepping worked in with situational awareness, they don't do nearly as much hopping around.

It's actually easier to hit an opponent that hops around a lot, it makes it predictable, predictable is a problem in fighting.

  • In addition to previous statements.

    No.

I like hopping about like a loon even out of pvp. (Glares menacingly at Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance because hopping let you move faster and the habit stuck...don't get me started on Ninja Gaiden 2...) I've noticed as an avid hopper: good shooters can hit you all day long. If you lose to a hopper the problem is you.

  • why Stamina isn't a thing in the game.

Rest of the game would just be horrible.
