Trinket Placement Options Changed?

I was just decorating a new sloop I bought and noticed I can't place trinkets in the same place as my previous sloop. My portrait of Merrick was to the left of the water barrel, my travel flasks were above the left side of the pet chest, and my emergency grog was to the right of the top food barrel. They're all still hanging there on the old sloop, but the option to replace them doesn't show them available on either sloop, so I'm guessing removing them would make it impossible to put them back. I couldn't find mention of a change like this in the release notes. Is this a bug or intentional?
