Most likely someone else already said this, but wouldn't it be cool to have the map border be the edge of the world, and if you went to close to it, your ship would fall over?
Edge of the world, as map border?
@maverickcorgi9 the idea is cool, but it wouldnt fit in sot Lore.
the Sea of thieves are actually on the earth we all know and love however unreachable for most ships due them being disguised by the shroud.
on our globe they are somewhere around the bermuda triangle
@maverickcorgi9 as @callmebackdraft says the SoT is hidden by the shroud - which is why so few pirates manage to find it and why the red sea destroys ships when you hit it.
Edge of the world and falling off it would be cool, but I think the way it has been designed fits pretty perfectly as is.
That not to say any future PotC shenanigans couldn't go that route?!
@callmebackdraft and @sshteeve thanks for the clarification!
This makes sense now and I hope we will see the edge in some other way then ;)@callmebackdraft Hmmm, I believe you're incorrect there... It's not on our same earth, I imagine the shroud as being a "bigger on the inside portal" deal. The new constellations and such lead me to believe that. But I get the point you're putting across.
You, on earth, head into the shroud, and end up in the sea of thieves. It's like a gateway, so you couldn't just fly over it, it's like a magic bubble of mist.
@sshteeve Aye, I doubt we'll ever really know for sure. That's what I like about it, it's up for interpretation.
