Sadly, neither film had any traps - unless you count a flaming brazier as a trap.

I would love to see more traps!!! There could be commendations for surviving traps to unlock more of the Trapmaker's Set, coz that capstan is sick!
There should be two types of Traps. Built-In Traps and Emergent Traps
Built-In Traps are on every large island. They are there always, but may be dormant. When you approach an island, there is a 90% chance the built in traps are disabled. These types of traps will be part of the island and make use of the island's environment. They are built-in to caves, cliffs, beaches, tunnels, valleys, and trails.
Examples:-Spikes can shoot out of the water pools on Kraken's Fall and in Sunken Grove
-A tripwire to detonate Snake Island's Gunpowder Tunnel
-Thieves' Haven and Wanderer's Refuge's cave rooftop will tremor and stalactites will rain down from overhead
-Lone Cove's graveyard will come to life!
-Shark Bait Cove's waterways will be swarmed with sharks
-Boulders roll down the mountains on Old Faithful IsleEmergent Traps would spawn on any island, as a rare encounter. They would be able to spawn in random locations opposed to predetermined spots that built in traps would have. These traps could be active regardless of if the island's main traps were or not
Things could include:
-Washed up Trinkets that, when grabbed, a buried skelly is holding onto it.
-Sand mounds that explode, shoot spikes, spawn skeletons, or poison you when stepped on.
-Skeletons that push rocks off of cliffs to crush you
-Fake chests that spawn in spots where loot can spawn, they look a bit off, and if you fall for it, you get ambushed and the chest crumbles to dust.
-Washed up bones that form together when you get close
-Beehives in trees and fire ant hills in sand!Many more!!! I need more things to catch me off guard!

Some kind of trip mine would of course be hilarious.
Being able to hook up a powder keg to a string that would set it off... it would bring my heart a lot of joy. Like a lot.Perhaps to balance, it would have to be a blunder bomb level trip mine. That we can then set up with an extra powder keg nearby if we think ahead. Yep, that!

The trap players are either the most crazy-friendly or the most dangerous lifeforms you can meet in SoT.
Beware of them, their approach on you might be a trap.
