In order for this to happen Rare would need to have a deal with Disney and that would probably be too expensive. Plus Sea of Thieves is its own world and story with its own characters, no need to mix the two.

I don't think you quite understand how difficult it would be for Microsoft/Rare to get that kind of licensing deal with Disney. Besides, Disney already did their own pirate-themed MMO set within the Pirates of the Caribbean universe; they'd sooner remaster it I would think.
Please no. I prefer it when games make idiosyncratic cosmetics because it makes the game feel special even if the items were some common holiday themed but made with games own style. I don't want any game to be like Fortnite where you first kill the entire population of star wars cast and move on to god of war. Making skins from other pop-culture movies, games, books, comics only makes game feel like cash grab and not something the devs are passioned about. It takes away the games "character/persona"
@tgao-harry success aside this doesn't belong in the sea of thieves world. we have our own lore rich world, we don't need an expansion based off of a theme park ride.

I agree, having emotes and characters from the movie franchise would be awesome. For instance you could buy a bundle like the Interceptor and it's British crew or buy the Black Pearl with Captain Sparrow or you buy characters like Salazar or Norrington or Calypso. If you can do it in Fortnite....Sea of Thieves would make bank and it's return on investment would more than pay itself. I think out would be cool.
