need to make the water around outposts safe zones so you stop large crews of people sitting there and waiting for someone to turn in all their hard work and just mob them and steal it. out in open water is fair but camping outposts is just stupid
Safe zones around outposts
@slinkylinky2010 No place in the Sea is safe, even outposts. Don't want to be attacked? Keep your head on a swivel and be prepared - keep an eye out for:
- Other ships
- Rowboats
- Mermaids
- Other pirates
Besides, if it was a safe zone, what would stop them from taking and turning in your loot? In fact, a safe zone might actually stop you from trying to get it back.
Remember, any loot you collect isn't actually yours until you turn it in. 😉
@SlinkyLinky2010 the devs intentionally made it so that outposts aren't safe. To compensate for that they added many outposts to the sea, 7 to be exact.
Camping outposts is less and less common
camping reapers happens but that doesn't even happen as much as people would assume they would
if you're worried about it just don't go to the most likely outpost a person would go to in your scenario
for example if you're getting loot around plunder don't go to plunder outpost go over to ancient
@WolfManbush Galleon's Grave is my favorite outpost for avoiding conflict, because, unlike other outposts, it's rarely my galleon's grave.
@burnbacon said in Safe zones around outposts:
I like to know when and where people do these..."waiting around outposts" I mean how many outposts do you see and you just happen to pick the one that a large crew is waiting for you?
Seriously...
I have only done it a few times and it's almost always because we're already in the same region, I see them nearby or coming, and then I quickly scuttle to make it look like I just logged off. Then I hide.
So, most of the time, it's circumstantial, rather than just waiting around for a crew to randomly show up. And trust me - I've played the waiting game, and even at the Reaper's Hideout, you're talking hours of unfun boredom just sitting about. It's better to go chase your target than it is to trap and surprise it by camping.
Hard pass on safe zones every game ive played that uses these gets abused. Every encounter in this game should teach you what to do and not do next time you play. As G.I. Joe said when i was a kid "knowing is half the battle". Use the knowledge you gain from this to protect yourself the next time you pull up at an outpost watch for those mermaids maybe send an away team to see if anyone has a trap set for you. There are definitely ways to prevent this from happening if you do see something out of the ordinary sail off to a different outpost as there are more outposts than ships on a server. Good luck in your future voyages.
Haha ha haaa you joking right?
Okay all in seriousness, it is your responsibility to protect your loots in any way that seem necessary and the company you tried to sell to don’t care if you was the one who got them all they care is getting their hand on the loots and if this was to be implemented, pirate would abuse this to absolutely extreme measures that even the outpost itself would call the police and move out to the devil roar
Literally all you have to do is look for mermaids or rowboats. If you see something suspicious, send someone over to check the island.
If you find someone tucking on the island and they're better than you, you don't even have to kill them, just go to a different outpost.
Sounds like you just fell for a better player's trap recently and you're just mad about it.
